FX Strategist - G10 Currency - Institutional

Role purpose:

- In conjunction with senior members of the team and individually produce high quality analysis, trade ideas, forecasts and timely research on G10 currencies to support the business decisions of BANKING CAPTIVE and BANKING CAPTIVE's clients.

- Working with Markets Sales teams and frontline relationship staff, this role will present market views to staff, internal stakeholders and external clients of BANKING CAPTIVE.

Role Accountabilities:

- Monitoring, analysing and forecasting G10 currencies.

- Identifying interesting market trends, relative value across products, trade ideas and contributing to relevant and timely research reports that improve the penetration of the G10 FX Strategy franchise with BANKING CAPTIVE's client base

- Maintaining a client service culture via marketing of views to internal and external clients

- Building productive and visible relationships with key internal stakeholders and external clients

- Enhancing the brand and reputation of BANKING CAPTIVE across customer segments and through the media

- Role modelling BANKING CAPTIVE's values, behaviours and our aspirational culture

- Contributing to the Research team's agenda around new techniques with data.

'Must have' knowledge, skills and experiences:

- Good understanding of G10 FX Markets

- Experience as an economist or strategist in the finance sector or related field

- An effective communication style, both written and oral, and excellent technical skills

- High levels of initiative and problem-solving

- A collaborative work style that involves others in reaching end results

Good to have' knowledge, skills and experiences:

- Financial market experience is not a must, but a demonstrated interest in markets is

- Previous experience in forecasting desirable

- Strong statistical skills are highly regarded

- Quantitative and programming skills are a plus

- Enjoys solving complex problems, has an ability to filter information and draw conclusions with incomplete information

- Expertise around new analytical techniques, tools and data

Qualifications:

- Bachelor of Economics/Finance (or equivalent) degree from a recognised tertiary institution

- Honours degree and/or relevant post-grad studies well regarded
