Front Office Risk Manager - Market Risk

We currently have a requirement with one of our client (bank) in Abu Dhabi, in the area of Market Risk - Oversight/ Front Desk.

Job Title : Front Office Risk Manager, Abu Dhabi

Department : Wholesale Global Markets Risk

Purpose of Job : The successful candidate will help build and manage a growing Front Office Market Risk function. He/she will have Risk Oversight primary responsibility for OTC Options Market Risk, and will also be expected to be able to provide cover for other portfolios and risks in Global Markets, eg: provide back up for counterparty risk oversight.

Job Content/Dimensions :

- Global Markets: products are structured into two main business areas:

a) Credit Trading & Alternatives - Fixed Income Trading, Hedge Funds, Equities and Fixed Income Investments

b) Global Rates & FX - market making and trading in Interest rates and FX markets for G7 and emerging markets, this includes the OTC Options trading and market making desk.

International Branches: utilise limits allocated from Global Markets and Group Treasury Limits

- Wholesale Global Markets Risk: is responsible for Risk Oversight, Risk Analysis & Explain, Management of the Limit Framework and Communication of Exposures for Global Markets and International functions. The team also provides technical and market expertise supporting risk infrastructure for the bank. Oversight coverage of the team includes Market Risk, Liquidity Risk, Counterparty Credit, and Operational Risk.

The Role:

- To work as part of a team in a front office risk oversight capacity, supporting the Global Markets business.

- Oversight responsibilities will have a primary focus on Market Risk for OTC derivatives while providing support for the whole function.

Experience / knowledge of the following will be valued:

- Global Markets products, particularly OTC options / derivatives

- Market Risk

- Liquidity Risk

- Counterparty risk

- Operational risk

Tasks/Responsibilities:

Risk Appetite, Risk Limits Management:

- Risk oversight for Global Markets - monitoring, analysis & communication of risk

- Limits Management for Global Markets

Risk Measurement Tools and Methodologies:

- Analysis and communication of Back-testing and Stress testing for the business

Risk Reporting:

- Oversight of Risk reporting including limit reporting, portfolio positions, VaR, Liquidity

Risk Compliance, Audit and Policies:

- Coordination of end to end control for Global Markets risk management processes and procedures

Risk Committees:

- Coordinating risk reporting required for the Risk Management Committee and other Management Information

Projects:

- Support Risk infrastructure development
