This is an end to end ETF operations and administration role. This group will be responsible for all functions from NAV oversight, Recon, GFAR operations, Tax operations and vendor oversight management. This group will have overall ownership of ETF fund operations and is expected to coordiante with third party administrator / internal operations teams for any issue resolution. The existing roles are currently functionalized and limited to one of the functions. The Manager of this group is expected to take responsibility of both people development and ownership of end to end ETF operations. He also needs to be an SME in the end to end operations and should be able to provide direction, guide the team, determine processes and work with the team and business partners/ internal clients and maintain good working relationship with all the service provider vendors.

Reporting to the Head of Global ETF Operations and Administration team and would be responsible for handling all aspects of Funds- operations (including, but not limited to: oversight / performing capital activity, cash/asset reconciliations, corporate actions, expenses, securities pricing, NAV oversight, tax and audits support); and ensure certain regulatory & financial reporting functions are performed in accordance with each jurisdiction Financial Reporting Standards; have vendor oversight, provide servicing to client groups (incl. PMs) as well as participate in new product launches and ad-hoc projects. Manages through supervisors and professional employees to achieve daily objectives and requirements of own team and/or workgroup.

Ensures department operates within established controls and regulations. May lead across multiple locations/regions, cultures and time zones. Engages team, develops direct reports and influences downstream developmental efforts. Helps to develop and executes strategic and operational plans for the department; provides direction in development and implementation of business solutions; and actualizes/drives change adoption and acceptance for area of accountability. Collaborates with cross-functional leaders to achieve objectives. Provides area specific expertise.

- Have end to end oversight of the service providers

- Ensures all work is completed timely, accurately and according to procedures both internally as well as the service providers

- Makes decisions regarding processes/systems issues, utilizing depth of knowledge/technical expertise to provide guidance and direction to teams.

- Escalates issues, as appropriate.

- Manages communication with appropriate stakeholders.

- Drives team to identify and implement continuous improvements.

- Prioritizes and aligns work to strategic priorities.

Risk Management

- Proactively identifies, evaluates and reduces operational risk, and assesses controls, utilizing metrics and exception reporting, to ensure department productivity and quality

- Evaluates risk events and recommends/implements corrective actions for control deficiencies internally and with service provider

- Contributes suggestions to improve control environment and manage risks internally and with service providers

Setting Strategy

- Provides input to strategy for department, leveraging business, technology and industry domain knowledge and expertise.

Change

- Represents department in cross-divisional projects as subject matter expert, and may lead department level projects.

- Leads change implementation and acceptance in department.

Hiring

- Makes hiring and termination decisions for both individual contributors and supervisors

- Diversity and Inclusion

- Support awareness of diversity and inclusion across department.

- Team Development and Performance Appraisal

- Identifies, coaches and develops talent in their team to meet and/or exceed performance expectations.

- Develops talent for own group and high potential staff for other groups in FTS to support development rotation.

Compensation

- Makes pay recommendations within established guidelines and budgets at point of hire; recommends promotion and pay increases.

- Responsible for calibrating staff performance ratings.

Staffing Strategy

- Understands current and forecasts future work volumes and staffing needs required to meet service goals and determines if team is staffed appropriately.

- Will assist the senior leaders in driving forward key initiatives for talent development.

- Manages processes and activities through downstream leaders and team members to achieve expected service, solution or product outcomes for team and/ or department of accountability.

Financial Management

- Manages assigned budget for team and/or workgroup within established guidelines.

- Proactively adjusts financial plan and business goals in response to changing business and economic environment, and ensures business goals are met within established financial targets.

- Understands and communicates business/financial climate and decisions/prioritization to team.

What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?

KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:

This position requires a University degree in accounting or business and a professional qualification in finance, accounting or management (e.g. CPA, CA, ACA, MBA) Requires thorough business management knowledge to implement processes, products, or services, and technical expertise to apply functional/process knowledge to diverse issues.

Typically requires the equivalent of 7+ years management experience either directly managing employees or playing senior role in a project management setting

Mutual funds preferably with experience in ETF
