Job Description :
The Role of the Business Analyst
- Monitor and forecast marketing and sales trends
- Measure the effectiveness of marketing programs and strategies
- Devise and evaluate methods for collecting data, such as surveys, questionnaires and opinion polls
- Gather data about consumers, competitors, and market conditions
- Analyze data
- Convert complex data and findings into understandable tables, graphs, and written reports
- Prepare reports and present results to clients and management
Required Skills Set :
Analytical skills : Market research analysts must be able to understand large amounts of data and information.
Communication skills: Market research analysts need strong communication skills when gathering information, interpreting data, and presenting results to clients.
Critical-thinking skills: Market research analysts must assess all available information to determine what marketing strategy would work best for a company.
Detail oriented: Market research analysts must be detail oriented because they often do precise data analysis.
The business analyst's primary objective is helping businesses implement technology solutions in a cost-effective way by determining the requirements of a project or program, and communicating them clearly to stakeholders, facilitators and partners.
Business analysts typically take the lead role in :
- Assisting with the business case
- Planning and monitoring
- Eliciting requirements
- Requirements organization
- Translating and simplifying requirements
- Requirements management and communication
- Requirements analysis
Skilled business analysts also use requirements to drive the design or review of test cases, process change requests, and manage a projects scope, acceptance, installation and deployment.
