Fractal Analytics - Data Scientist

Position Expectations:

Our Big Data capability team strictly needs hands-on technical data scientists who can work independently and are self-motivated.

- Derive value for our customers through data analysis. Build models that tie data to important business and client use cases.

- Apply statistical modeling, machine learning and/or data mining techniques to large amounts of noisy, complex real-world data to identify business insights.

- Ability to track down complex data and engineering issues, evaluate different algorithmic approaches, and analyze data to solve problems

- Define our data products and work cross-functionally with other teams at our company to productize.

- Define and execute team goals.Guide and mentor team members

The Person:

Qualification &Experience:

We are hiring across various levels. An ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of demonstrable experience in data science, analytics, statistical analysis, and/or machine learning.

- Experience in data science, analytics, statistical analysis, and/or machine learning.

- Proven ability to use data analysis and modeling to generate business results

- Excellent analytical, creative, and problem-solving abilities

- Expertise in at least one statistical analysis tool such as R, Stata, Weka, Matlab, or SciPy

- Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to convey analytical insights in actionable business terms

Must have (hands-on) experience:

- Fluency with at least one scripting language such as Python / Perl / Shell

- Hands on knowledge of various machine learning methods and statistical analysis.

- Expert-level usage of any one statistical or analytics tool like R / SciPy / Matlab / Weka

- Working knowledge of Hadoop ecosystem

Desirable (would be a plus):

- Experience with data analysis & visualization using libraries and tools like R, SciPy, Scikit- learn

- Some working experience of RDBMS / NoSQL database/ Cloud computing / deployment or exposure to Distributed computing

Education:

BE/B.Tech in Computer Science / Mathematics or a Masters or Master / Ph.D. in a quantitative discipline or equivalent.
