- The Forecast Researcher is a critical member of Forrester’s ForecastView team. The ForecastView team is engaged in building industry-level global forecasts that provide reliable insights into online, mobile, and emerging technology markets. With ForecastView, companies receive deep, reliable insight into the current size, composition, and future growth opportunities in their markets.

- The Researcher plays a key role for the team across research, client consulting, and internal organization. Qualified candidates must display a strong interest in financial analysis of companies and topics such as consumer behavior and adoption of various technologies and their impact on the development of the market. A track record in market research, survey analysis, or project consulting is extremely helpful. This individual should have a good understanding of market research data as well as data sources such as industry association reports, company financial statements, usage of consumer survey data, and ability to manage projects under time-critical business deadlines. This person should be able to think strategically about market development and the various drivers and inhibitors that impact the general dynamics of a market.

Job Responsibilities:

- Support ForecastView analysts in conducting market research that informs the basis of a market forecast.

- Sift through company financial statements to extrapolate relevant metrics to estimate market size.

- Proactively build and maintain the data assets that further enhance the productivity of ForecastView analysts.

- Analyze consumer survey data and support analysts with the survey data cuts. Knowledge of SPSS is useful but not a requirement.

- Closely monitor the market events and analyze their impact on the Forrester forecasts.

- Support the creating of data client deliverables, such as Excel forecast summaries and PowerPoint presentations.

- Co-develop basic market forecasts, such as the global online population forecast.

- Review marketing and strategy research documents that contain ForecastView data, and subject them to a thorough data-quality check before publication.

- Help with client inquiry support and increasing client engagement of ForecastView data.

- Conduct interviews and evaluations for research and for clients.

- Help team leaders manage day-to-day initiatives, such as client engagements, webinars, and the forecast publishing schedule.
