Job Profile: Forecasting specialist (Agro Commodities)

Reporting To: Cluster Lead – Chemicals and Forecasting

Location : Chennai

Job Scope and Key Responsibilities:

a. Develop global price forecasts for agro based commodities (Corn, Sugar, Palm Oil, Wheat, Cocoa and Cotton) using advanced statistical models and technical analysis.

b. Understands fundamental analysis of commodities and also understands the dynamics of commodities as an asset class vis-à-vis other asset class investment opportunities in international market.

c. Develop mechanism for assessing volatility and recommend buying strategies for clients (both internal and external)

d. Develop scenario based analysis for highly volatile commodities and regularly track the indicators leading to most likely scenario and proactively create red flag analysis

e. Regular tracking of market movements and impact of macro-economic indicators leading to proactive advisories, whitepapers and news alerts to the clients

f. Provide presales support and handle clients directly in a global delivery model

Skills Required:

a. Strong knowledge on Statistical Modeling and indepth understanding on Technical Analysis

b. Use different software packages (SPSS, E Views, STATA and Bloomberg)

c. Excellent analytical and communication skills (Written and Oral)

Educational and Professional Requirements:

a. PG Economics/ Econometrics, certifications in commodity derivatives, commodity trading etc

b. Experience: 5+ years
