Role of the Strategy Team :

- The Strategy team facilitates the development of long term growth strategy and more immediate operational decisions by providing fact based analyses, consumer insights, and practical recommendations to key decision makers across the organization.

- The team works directly with the CEO & COO (who are also the co-founders) of Flipkart. The team collaborates with business leaders to ensure seamless execution of recommended strategic initiatives.

Position Description & Major Responsibilities :

- Senior Manager, Strategy will be responsible for the strategy of the Flipkart Group of businesses. The Senior Manager will work closely with the Head, Corporate Strategy - Flipkart. This role will provide a great launch pad for moving into impactful operational /P&L role over a period of time.

- Partner with category and function (SCM, retail, finance) teams to proactively identify, develop and drive strategies and initiatives

- Study industry trends and bring out insights to drive differentiation and response to counter competitive moves

- Plan, organize, and support primary research by working closely with internal teams and external vendors

- Conduct benchmarking with competitors and global best practices

- Evolve the overall strategy for Flipkart supported by business cases and strategic rationale

- Drive implementation of key initiatives for growth, customer service and experience

- Create business plans and presentations

Qualifications :

- MBA from a Top Tier business school in India (IIM, ISB) / abroad

- 5-7 years of relevant work experience, with at least 4 years in blue chip management consulting firm (McKinsey, BCG, Bain, AT Kearney)

- Prior experience in e-commerce / retail / consumer goods / supply chain is preferable

Key competencies :

- Able to independently scope, define and lead cross-functional projects and own responsibility of outcomes

- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, excellent attention to detail and business judgement

- Proficiency in market research, program management and managing cross-functional teams

- Strong written and oral communication skills, and ability to present in senior management settings

- Proficiency in MS Excel and Power Point
