Position: Fixed Income Associate - Global Data Management
Location: Mumbai (Vashi, Navi Mumbai)
Experience: 3 to 8 years of experience in investment industry
Qualification:
- A Bachelor or Master degree in Commerce, Engineering, Finance, Economics or Mathematics and a strong interest in Finance. CA, CFA, MBA or graduate degree is strongly preferred
Responsibilities:
- Work along the entire data management life cycle, process vendor data in complete, accurate and timely manner and provide highest quality data for Morningstar fixed income indexes.
- Efficient vendor management by ensuring that they are adhering to SLAs, the data provided is of the best quality, proactively find and resolve data issues.
- Handling reconstitution and rebalancing of fixed income indexes
- Understanding the current suite of products and suggest possible enhancements to index methodologies over time
- Own and update index rulebooks at regular intervals
- Answer clients queries related to data, calculation, and reconstitution/rebalancing related such as to explain addition/deletions/change of weights etc.
- Source market data for Developed and Emerging Markets and maintain Security Master and Universe Management process of combining, normalizing, QA’ing, correcting and finalizing data such as coupon, maturity, duration, yield, etc.
- Create QA standards and develop automated processes with technology to handle day-to-day work
- Work with the New Product Development/Research team for all their data requirements and enhance historical data by finding and eliminating gaps and errors.
- Balance the volume of work assigned as the demands of the job can vary periodically driven by reconstitution and rebalancing calendar.
- Be able to ensure some overlap with the US working hours, whenever required.
- This position stays informed of new developments and trends in the fixed income index industry.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor or Master degree in Commerce, Engineering, Finance, Economics or Mathematics and a strong interest in Finance. CA, CFA, MBA or graduate degree is strongly preferred.
- 3 to 8 years of experience in investment industry
- Strong understanding of fixed income concepts, products and indexes
- Familiarity with leading global fixed income indexes
- Knowledge and experience in using MS Office
- Comfort with MS Excel, Excel VBA, SQL and/or desire and aptitude to learn such tools and languages
- Ability to work within a team-oriented environment and under tight deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
