Position Description:

What You- ll Do:

Fishbowl, a big data analytics leader, delivers meaningful analyses and software solutions that enable top companies in the restaurant and retail industries to tackle the increasingly complex issues they face in today's highly competitive environment. Leveraging big data, the analytics team creates actionable insights that enable companies to maximize profitable decision-making. The Consultant assists in delivering these solutions, including: analysis, synthesis and reporting of key performance indicators and underlying product trends and transactions shifts, consumer behavior patterns, and other outside market influences. This role is a forward-thinking, agile colleague that works as part of a team to create industry-changing systems and products that place Fishbowl as thought-leaders in the big data phenomenon.

The Consultant will work directly with franchisee owners providing pricing recommendations, guidance and answering general pricing questions on a daily basis. They will also be responsible for reviewing and vetting pricing reports prior to sending to clients. Smaller ad hoc pricing analysis based on franchisee needs will also be part of their daily function.

Responsibilities:

- Ability to read and understand the outputs of analytical tools (Tableau standard reports, descriptive statistics on KPIs/products/purchase profile, pre/post analytics, price elasticity and pricing power outputs) to uncover factors influencing business trends using client data inputs and help provide guidance/analysis and recommendations for client reports.

- Prepare reports that portray trends, changes and overall financial implications of client initiatives in partnership with business analyst.

- Provide daily client consultation on pricing recommendations. Clients will be multiple small to midsize franchisee owners.

- Respond via email, phone or web to questions relating to pricing recommendations

- Proactively communicate and collaborate with Client as well as internal team to complete deliverables on time; establish timelines, communicate regularly with the internal teams; collaborate with all functional areas as needed: Data programming/loading, data scientists team, project sponsors, others as required.

- Research background on client's brand (internet, internal documentation, client Q&A, past analytics work); understand how the client's assess their business, what their goals are, what their pain points are, what are the non-negotiables to consider relative to the given project.

- Understand key business questions/problems to solve as presented by Project Sponsor/scope of work outline.

- Assist in performing financial modeling including revenue/sales, costs, margin, traffic/transactions and rates of return; set up, maintain, adjust impact sheets and other tools needed to achieve project goals.

- Assist in quantitative and qualitative analytics and research, leading to understanding of how to leverage findings to drive profitability for client.

- Gather information from multiple sources (internal and from client) that will help the team reconcile conflicts, track client performance; review flagged anomalies with team, troubleshoot data issues with team as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers and subject matter experts.

- Restaurant industry experience.

- Excellent written and verbal presentation skills.

- Good skills in Excel, Word, Powerpoint.

- Knowledge of Tableau helpful

- Independent thinker, offer solutions for improving teamwork and processes.

- Work well both independently and as part of a team, solicits feedback, asks question.

- Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously.

- Highly organized.

- Self-directed and motivated.

Education and Experience Required:

- BS in Business, Economics, Operations Management; a focus in Hospitality and/or Restaurant Management and Operations a plus.

- Major Programs of Study Desired: Restaurant Operations, Business Administration or Statistics/Economics/Business/Quantitative Finance/ Operations Research or Management Science

- A student of the big data phenomenon, well-versed in and enthusiastic about big data.
