Summarize the main purpose or objective of this job.

Located in Bangalore, the VP of IT Development Operations will lead a team of Development Operation Engineers with the goal of acting as a liaison between corporate IT operations, infrastructure and software developers to enable efficient, productive, and functional development efforts that meet the goals and requirements of all parties.

Act as the SVP-Tech Operations- liaison for local business executives and ensure their needs are being addressed. Responsibilities include all non-production environments, infrastructure testing, run books, Release and Patch Management, Configuration Management and application support.

Keeps current with DevOps practices to design and drive policies and processes for achieving and maintaining compliance and for establishing escalation and other processes to minimize the impact of outages on the business and customer.

Must be highly effective in a matrixed environment and collaborative with peers, as well as other globally dispersed First Advantage leaders, on multiple enterprise-wide initiatives, simultaneously. Peers include Global leaders of the Data Center, Corporate Applications, Security and Networking, Architecture and Helpdesk & Field Support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

- Collaborates effectively with other groups and departments; in particular the architecture teams and peers within the global IT organization to maintain all non-production environments, infrastructure testing, run books, release and patch management, configuration management and application support.

- Act as the local IT leader to support US-based peers and ensure day-to-day supervision and matrix oversight is carried out, and that local resources are effectively deployed. Ensures training and cross-training is delivered, and appropriate supervision and mentoring is occurring for team members. Collaborates with peers regarding employee assignments and issues.

- Develop standards for interdepartmental compatibility and cross-BU collaboration

- Plan, execute, and distribute software as part of a coordinated process, in terms of software distribution, release management and publishing

- Monitor and propose methods to improve the effectiveness of existing interdepartmental functions

- Oversees the processes necessary to ensure code review, source code control, continuous integration, software hosting, and supporting tools that meet requirements

- Provides valuable tools and environments that enable maximum development efficiency. Integrate software tools for a better software workflow. Ensures that systems meet industry standards and business needs

- Oversees the transition of newly released code to ensures the code meets all production criteria and that production teams are ready

- Investigates, recommends and oversee implementation of new technologies; Maintains knowledge of emerging systems trends

- Support global Information Security needs

- Acts as the IT liaison for local business executives and ensure their needs are being addressed. Oversees and directs effective communication strategies within IT, across management, and with key business partners.

Job Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Science, Management Information Systems, or related field. Experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.

Experience :

- 18+ years of IT related experience, including 3+ years experience supporting the IT needs of a multi-national/multi-site company and environment

- 5-8 years progressive IT management experience, directly managing a matrixed workforce in a regionally dispersed, multinational organization.

- Experience in providing support to senior/executive management

- Broad experience with systems and IT operations, utilizing a wide variety of technologies and tools and advanced knowledge of automation tools and their applications

- A working understanding of scripting (PHP, Python, or Perl are preferred)

- Experience with automation/configuration management using either Puppet, Chef or an equivalent

- Advanced knowledge of SQL

- Experience with JBoss, Hudson, Git, and Jenkins

- Data management skills

- Linux or Unix systems administrator experience

- Demonstrated ability to lead project teams and deliver results against milestones and deliverables: a demonstrated strong focus on business outcomes

- Comfort with frequent, incremental code testing and deployment

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to have direct conversations and share open feedback

- Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a deadline-driven, fast paced environment and effectively multi-task priorities in a team-oriented environment

- Must be flexible and able to adapt seamlessly to changing requirements and schedules

- Must demonstrate a sense of urgency that aligns with the business needs
