Vice President - Sales

Location : Chennai, India

Finwego is a SAIF Partners backed Fintech Company focused on lending to school ecosystem. We are currently looking for a Vice President - Sales with 10-12 years of core sales experience to be based out of Chennai. The key responsibility of the role is to lead the entire sales function of the Company such as devise and execute sales strategy to meet targets, identify new sales opportunities, farm existing client relationships by delivering new product offerings, and build, train and sustain a highly motivated sales team that spreads across geographies.

Job Responsibilities

1. Sales management

- Lead and manage all sales related activities including new client acquisition, relationship management, customer support, and on-field sales

- Sets goals and KPIs for each member of the sales team, support each sales team member towards successful accomplishment of the goals, targets and KPIs. Provide them with training needed to make them successful.

- Identify talent needs in the sales team, support the HR team in identification of talent and training the new recruits to induct them successfully to the organization and the sales function

- Design monetary and non-monetary incentive schemes needed to motivate sales team to achieve desired sales revenue.

- Collaborate with the internal stakeholders including founders, other vertical heads and colleagues to ensure that the sales team is able to receive the support needed to fulfill the sales goals.

2. Sales strategy

- Lead the sales strategy of the organization to ensure that the sales team is able to achieve the sales goals.

- Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the sales strategy and make changes to the strategy in order to achieve desired results.

- Monitor and evaluate channel strategy and make changes to the strategy in order to increases sales revenue

- Gather and monitor insights from the field regarding product performance and provide inputs to improvise product strategy

3. Analytics and market information

- Conduct business analyses, performance analyses, cost-benefit analysis (for any new sales strategy) and competitive analyses

- Monitor and review actual sales results, comparing it with set targets and business KPIs in order to determine the effectiveness of sales activities and implement necessary changes to successfully meet the targets in the future.

- Forecast sales performance for the next period keeping the business goals in mind

- Maintain a through knowledge base of the market, competitors, and regulatory activity through regular research and networking with stakeholder to gain market insights

- Present key information and results of the analyses to key stakeholders.

5. Relationships and Negotiation

- Maintain long-term relationships with key stakeholders, key consumers, potential consumers, and key strategic partners.

- Establish relationship with vendors, channel partners, etc. and negotiate partnerships that is cost-beneficial to increase sales

6. Most importantly

- Treat people with respect; keep commitments; inspire the trust of others; view other colleagues as collaborators and not as a threat; work ethically and with integrity; uphold organizational values; accept responsibility for own actions; demonstrates knowledge of and adherence to Company values

Experience

- 10 - 12 years of experience core sales experience in banks or NBFCs preferably handling asset products (secured and unsecured)

- In-depth knowledge of building, training and motivating multi-state sales teams

- Great interpersonal, communication, and time management skills

- Critical thinker and problem-solving skills

- Team player with ability to build and sustain a sales team

- MBA or similar degree from a top-tier school preferably with specialization in sales and marketing
