About the role Finwego is looking for a hands-on, technology proficient Senior Product Manager to be based out of Chennai, India, who can lead, define, and deliver innovative solutions for our target group i.e. K-12 school stakeholders. This role is a unique opportunity to work on the growing education finance space in India. In this role, you will be the product owner responsible for prioritizing, defining and building products that enables Finwego to better serve the K12 education ecosystem's credit needs. The Senior Product manager will also be responsible for learning, iterating and improving on our existing suite of products by adding innovative functionality that further differentiates Finwego's loan products in the market. At Finwego, you- ll become part of a unique Fintech startup whose goal is to improve quality of education by delivering the right type of financial products to all who are directly and indirectly involved in educating India's younger generation. India has the largest school student population (250M) and highest number of schools (1.3M). K12 ecosystem is the 7th highest employment-generating segment in India directly employing 11M people. Finwego is uniquely positioned to operate in the intersection of these high impact target groups. 3. Responsibilities a. Product Innovation : - Understand Finwego's target group including existing customers- needs that can fulfil through a credit offering by closely engaging with them, and through structure interaction with internal teams i.e. operations, sales, etc. - Prioritize opportunity area that can be solved given the organizational capacity and feasibility - Create product concepts to achieve the goal of helping schools function better - Refine, validate and identify top 2-3 product concepts using available data - Rapidly test and iterate identified product concept among users - Create prototypes of the successfully tested product concepts b. Product Development : - Translate insights into a product strategy from driving consensus internally, design, engineering, operations, forging required partnerships, and developing success metrics. - Work with operations subject matter experts and use a broad range of sources to develop innovative functionality - Design processes, workflows, and functional components to improve efficiencies. - Work with designers, developers (both locally and remotely) and subject matter experts to get project requirements well scoped, designed and built. - Map out talent requirement for the product - Work with internal teams such as HR, marketing, operations and sales to launch the product. - Establish product delivery timelines in close collaboration with internal teams and keep stakeholders updated on c. Product Management : - Monitor and understand the key metrics governing the product area to continuously improve customer delight and innovate products - Gather customer data and analyze data in order to optimize the product for an improved customer experience and business metrics - Be on top of competitive landscapes and strategies. 4. Qualifications : - Bachelor's degree, ideally with a technical discipline (computer science, engineering) or Master's degree in business or public policy from a top-tier school - 5-7 years of relevant product management experience - Demonstrated success defining and launching exceptional consumer facing products - Experience in financial services a plus, but more important dive deeply into specific functional areas and learn a domain specific language - Aptitude for data, analytics and ability to communicate complex ideas effectively both verbally and in writing - Proven ability to innovate and come up with ideas to help drive the product forward - Proven ability to understand the business and engineering sides and bridge both sides - Ability to assume a strong sense of responsibility and ownership - a self-starter. - Excellent result oriented project management skills - Resourceful, intellectually curious and flair for problem-solving
