Financial Planning & Analysis Manager – 5 to 10 years – Kolkata

Job Description

- To ensure the seamless transition of UK FP&A activities to Kolkata

- To ensure the efficient and effective service delivery on P&C processes as per the SLAs agreed

Specification / Skills / Experience

Key Responsibilities:

FP&A Transition

- Assist with recruitment of a high performance team of experienced FP&A accountants

- Actively manage the knowledge transfer process and logistics to ensure that it is well planned, robust and properly monitored and co-ordinated

- Play a key role in the transition project management process and work-streams

- Help to manage and track the financials of the transition against the agreed investment case.

FP&A Delivery

- Motivate and develop the operational staff to ensure that all services meet the target, within the agreed financial budget;

- Ensure that these staff have up-to-date job descriptions, are regularly appraised, and have a current training plan for personal development, arrange for the recruitment of staff as necessary.

- Develop and maintain controls and procedures to ensure that the operational processes run efficiently, ensure that in the event of failure Operations can recover services in accordance with a predefined and tested recovery or continuity plan, to agreed fallback levels of services within the agreed recovery time,

- Ensure that the physical environment is maintained and secure according to contractual requirements and business needs,

- Plan and oversee the installation of infrastructure and liaise regularly with vendor staff to ensure adequate support is provided, Ensure that all operational staff are aware of and comply with all operational service management processes.

Typical Activities:

- Be the owner of all the operations process

- Manage operational activities on a day to day shift basis, ensuring that all the agreed operational targets are met,

- Develop, maintain and enforce acceptance criteria and procedures for the implementation of new structure into the operational environment,

- Ensuring that all operational infrastructure is operated in accordance with security, environmental and all other organisational policies, Ensure with problem management/specialist support/vendor assistance as required, that incidence arising from or affecting the production cycle have minimum effect and are resolved within the target timeframe; ensure that all such incidents are recorded according to the defined incident management procedures and that any infrastructure changes proposed to resolve incidents and problems are subject to change management control.

- Provide regular feedback on operational performance to the management recommending any improvement required,

- Handling all exceptions within scope and escalating where necessary those matters beyond the appropriate level of authority.

- Ensure that all infrastructure and environmental housekeeping procedures and system backup are performed to the prescribe standard.

- Be responsible for quality insurance, validity and acceptance of infrastructure component deliveries.

- Manage the operational budget ensuring that actual expenditure is within the forecasted level, Regularly review operational processes for efficiency, effectiveness and compliance with a view to investigating a continuous process of improvement within all operational areas,

- Develop a service, customer and business focused culture within operational areas and processes, Ensure that operations continuity and recovery plans are maintained in line with overall IT service continuity plans and business continuity plans.

Key Relationships:

- UK Controllers, CFOs and IS Global Controllers;

- UK Core Services Finance Team;

- UK Tax Team;

- Internal and external Audit;

- Capgemini UK and Global IS employees (Account Managers and others)

Measures of Success:

- Meeting or exceeding Service Level Agreement targets;

- Low team attrition.

Location: Kolkata

Experience: 5 to 10 years

Primary Skills (Must have)

- Graduate in Business Administration or Accounting;

- At least 7 years commercial experience in a Finance and Accounting environment;

- Previous multi-country experience of complex transitions

- Previous experience of managing a busy multi-functional team;

- Strong Oracle/SAP Financials skills

- Advanced Microsoft Office skills;

- Ability to manipulate data to an advanced level using Microsoft Excel;

- Providing solutions with limited escalation.

- Flexible work schedule to accommodate peak-activity UK business hours during the month.

Secondary Skills (Nice to have)

- Excellent command of spoken and written English;

- Leadership qualities to build and motivate an effective team;

- Ability to articulate and influence, both internally with colleagues and externally with clients/suppliers;

- Ability to handle difficult situations in a calm and assertive manner, without damaging internal or external relationships;

- Ability to prioritise and balance the workload of the team to meet deadlines and provide high quality service;

- Commitment to providing outstanding customer service;

- Ability to make recommendations for process improvements supported by sound facts and judgements;

- Strong analytical and organisational skills;

- Excellent communication skills.
