Financial Controller
Our client is looking for a Financial Controller for their Family Office . The business is diversified in Investments and Real Estate and Financial Services .
Overall Job Objective:
The Financial Controller is responsible for planning, directing, and controlling all financial activities of the organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with financial regulations, and effective financial management.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Management:
- Oversee the preparation, analysis, and presentation of accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and forecasts.
- Develop and monitor financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard assets, ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records, and comply with relevant regulations.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with banks, auditors, and other external financial parties.
- Review and evaluate overall financial performance, identifying areas of improvement and suggesting solutions.
2. Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Develop annual budgets and financial forecasts in collaboration with relevant departments.
- Monitor budget performance and provide regular reports to management, highlighting any significant variances or issues.
- Advise on ways to align financial performance with strategic goals and make recommendations for cost reductions or revenue enhancements.
3. Financial Reporting and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, accounting principles, and reporting standards.
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely financial reports, tax returns, and other statutory requirements.
- Coordinate and support external audits, ensuring all audit requirements are met.
- Develop and maintain a system for monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of internal controls.
4. Financial Analysis and Decision Support:
- Collaborate with various departments to review investment proposals, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations to ensure sound financial outcomes.
- Provide financial guidance and expertise to senior management, assisting in developing financial strategies and assessing the financial viability of potential projects.
5. Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of teamwork, continuous learning, and professional growth.
- Establish clear performance objectives and conduct regular performance reviews.
- Coach and mentor team members, providing guidance and support as needed.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. A master's degree and/or professional qualification (e.g., CA, CFA) would be advantageous.
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role in a reputable organization.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively.
- Proficiency in financial management systems and advanced knowledge of spreadsheet and financial software
- Experience in strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Knowledge of industry-specific financial practices and trends.
- Professional integrity, with an emphasis on ethical behavior and transparency
