Financial Controller - FMCG

There is an Urgent requirement for "Finance Controller" for one of the FMCG Company in East Africa.

Responsibility :

Financial Accounting and Reporting : In charge of budgeting, forecasting and group statutory reporting processes. This includes budgets and forecasts produced within dates set by and approved by the Group and ensure financial and statutory reports are produced within set guidelines and in line with Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP) and international Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)

Management of Capital Expenditure and Reporting : This entails review of capex proposals before submission for approval and monitoring of expenses against budgets.

Working Capital Management : Ensure that optimal levels are maintained as well as manage debtors and stocks to ensure minimal to nil impairment and negotiation of credit terms with suppliers.

Audit Function :

- Ensuring effectiveness of the audit function by conclusively and promptly addressing issues raised.

Tasks included :

- Timely submission of audited year end packs and financial statements

- Clean audit reports and favourable internal audit findings

- Internal and external audits are carried out effectively at the least possible audit costs

- Perform risk assessment and development of and adherence to audit plan.

Taxation :

- Management of tax affairs through accurate computations, timely payment of taxes and submission of returns to the tax authorities.

People and system management : Coach and manage staff in financial recording, reporting and management.
