Finance Controller

Your role:

The Finance Controller will ensure company's compliance with all financial and management reporting from a Statutory and Group perspective. As part of the wider WMG group and India & SAARC sub-region, this position will be responsible for recurring financial obligations as well as oversight of day-to-day financial operations - including standard functions such as accounts payable and receivable, as well as more industry specific areas such as royalty accounting.

Deliverables:

- Deliver all company related financial reporting, financial analysis, forecasting and budgeting, royalty reporting and internal and external audit support. Provision of management reporting on deliverables and submissions.

- Oversight of Billing, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions. Role also to cover Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition

- Provide accurate and timely financial reporting information to local and international stakeholders (e.g. Corporate Finance, Emerging Market leadership, local leadership etc) on cyclical and ad hoc basis, sharing the business narrative and insights to inform strategic decision-making

- Hold accountability for all aspects of day-to-day financial strategy and operations.

- Ensure that regular financial reporting is in line with US GAAP and Warner Music policies.

- Manage budgeting, forecasting and cashflow with local and international teams (e.g. Treasury in New York)

- Prepare detailed annual budgets and monthly forecasts, plus monthly cash forecasts, in conjunction with variance analysis, commentary and annual budget presentation.

- Provide Financial and Business support to Senior Management.

- Participate in functions of Royalty Accounting, Property/Office management and IT locally, in partnership, as appropriate, with global functional teams (e.g. Global Technology team for IT).

- Build relationships with other functional teams and ensure effective collaboration between the finance department and other departments (e.g. A&R, Marketing, Admin).

- Preparation and coordination of regulatory reporting and audit processes to ensure accuracy of financial information

- Comply with local, state, and national government reporting requirements and tax filings according to Indian Accounting Standards.

Review and Analysis:

- Review cost centers for accuracy and implement corrective measures as needed.

- Manage detailed analysis of Operational metrics, eg: Artists, business partners etc

- Proactively analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators, highlighting trends.

- Analysing causes of unexpected variances and forecast derivation.

- Review key performance indicators to understand cost drivers and closely work with management, WMI on implementation of cost reduction opportunities

- Proven work experience as a General Manager Finance, Head of finance or similar role in leadership

- In-depth understanding of cash flow management, bank reconciliation and bookkeeping

- Hands-on experience with budgeting and risk management

- Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting models

- Proficiency in accounting software and all Microsoft Office Applications, predominantly Excel.

- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills

- Graduate/PG in Accounting, Finance or relevant field with around 8 - 10 years of work experience or a relevant certification such as CFA/CPA would be an added advantage
