Directly Supervises: Controller, Tax & Compliance Manager, Financial Analysis Manager, Reporting Manager, Regional Controllers
Job Summary:
- Support the development of timely, accurate and cost effective statutory and management reporting in accordance with local and Beirut requirements.
- Provide financial stewardship of company assets and activities by ensuring an accurate assessment of financial condition and by leading implementation of an efficient system of internal controls, financial processes and procedures that are responsive to the needs of customers, suppliers and internal partners.
- Ensure compliance with relevant statutory bodies and laws.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
Financial Control and Asset Stewardship:
- Execute and sustain the necessary processes for effective financial control and stewardship
- Ensure timely implementation of internal and external audit recommendations
- Ensure creditor accounts are properly maintained and reconciled on regular basis.
- Ensure timely sales and cash reconciliations and reporting as per company policies
Financial Reporting and Transaction Processing:
- Support implementation of Best Practice Tools which improve the accuracy, timeliness and cost effectiveness of financial transaction processing and reporting
- Ensure financial accounting reports accurately reflect the financial condition of the business
- Liaise with external auditors and provide all necessary information for accurate rendering of Company accounts.
Compliance:
- Support compliance with all local and corporate statutory laws, rules and regulations
- Identify and pursue implementation of tax savings initiatives
- Liaise with the Audit Committee, Nigerian Stock Exchange, Securities and Exchange Commission, Financial Reporting Council and other regulatory authorities.
- Coordinate the publication and distribution of Annual Report and the Annual General Meeting.
Other Duties:
- Provide adequate insurance cover for all risks and company assets
- Supervise the accounting function of sister companies
- Signatory to Company payment vouchers, statutory documents and financial documents.
Key Performance Objectives & Indicators:
Objective:
- Accurate and timely recording and reporting of financial transactions and adherence to internal controls to maintain the integrity of all company financial assets.
- Liaise and comply with the requirements of relevant statutory bodies/laws.
Indicators:
- Level of company-wide adherence to accounting policies, procedures and controls. Quality of book-keeping, accuracy of records, trial balance and sub-ledgers etc; accessibility and usefulness of information. Minimize sanctions for non compliance with regulatory bodies and laws.

Job Specifications:
Minimum Education:
- B.Sc. degree-Accounting, MBA (Finance)
- Membership of ICAN or other related professional bodies
Minimum Experience:
- 12 years working experience
