Finance Controller - EdTech Firm

Job Description:

Lead the Business Finance teams of different BU's of the company and be responsible for multiple business unit reporting, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, performance monitoring, MIS on operating levers, cost management etc., pre-empting risks and highlighting red-flags for the BU's, decision support for business heads and management team.

Key Areas of Responsibilities:

As the Business Controller, your key responsibilities would be as follows:

- Proactively considering improvements to existing processes how new decisions will impact existing processes.

- Ascertaining regular governance meetings to lead in the review of divisional business performance, highlight issues, recognise, recommend and manage corrective actions. Providing financial and non-financial information to stakeholders as required.

- Being responsible for production and interpretation of monthly management accounts for the Division, driving financial performance by monitoring and improving project profitability, staff utilisation, overheads, and productivity MIS.

- Review the Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly and Annual financial analysis (Budget, Forecast and Actuals) prepared by the respective business finance partners.

- Prepare and run business plans along with the Business Heads (annual budget, rolling forecasts, project calculations).

- Support and assisting in information gathering including KPI and other metrics

- Ensures business is running smoothly and efficiently in terms of financial processes and operations.

- Ensure accurate submission of all reports in compliance as per defined deadline.

- Ad hoc analysis, projects, and other duties as assigned.

Profile :

As the ideal candidate, you are a qualified Chartered Accountant or MBA from a reputed institution with 10-12 years of post qualification experience in business controlling / FP&A / business finance. Alternatively, the ideal candidate could also have experience in a Big 4, followed by at least 5 years of industry experience.

Skills and attributes:

- Excellent Communicate as the role would require interactions with multiple stakeholders

- Understanding or comfort with Project / Process Management skills

- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities and desire to learn

- Knowledge of any ERP systems, preferably SAP

- Eye for details and must be a great team player having ability to work with a diverse workforce

- IT acumen, backed by proficiency in MS-Office, ability to handle complex data, and experience of modelling in MS-Excel or Access.
