Finance Controller - For a Series A funded B2B startup

We are looking hiring an FC for one of our early-stage portfolio companies, Zippmat.

About ZippMat :

- ZippMat, founded in 2021, is a construction materials supply marketplace based in Bengaluru. Within a short period of 15 months, the company has scaled to over US$ 30 MN ARR profitably. The Company is one of the leading materials suppliers in South India, working with over 120 large and medium sized engineering companies.

- The Company has built a unique full-stack solution which ensures low cost, on-time deliveries across India. ZippMat has helped contractors execute works faster by reducing product delivery timelines by up to 25%.

- ZippMat has raised over US$ 10 MM of equity and debt capital from marquee investors including Matrix Partners, Zephyr Peacock and leading banks like HDFC Bank and RBL Bank.

- With a supply footprint across 15+ states, ZippMat serves the supply needs of engineering companies across multiple infra domains including railways, roadways, irrigation and building constructions.

- ZippMat today has a team of nearly 50 professionals based out of Bengaluru, Mumbai and Delhi.

- As ZippMat scales its business nationally, we are recruiting to strengthen our finance function leadership.

Roles and responsibilities :

The role will be responsible for overall financial management of the Company. The ideal candidate should have relevant experience in the following :

- Managing the overall finance team to ensure

a. Daily invoicing and payments

b. Tax and all relevant statutory compliances

c. General accounting and ledger management

d. Treasury management

e. Working capital management (Receivables and payables)

- Build financial and accounting systems to support the 1-100 growth journey.

- Financial planning including annual budgets, and rolling monthly/quarterly plans

- Financial control and management vis- vis budget and other plans

- Assist founders with board meeting deck, business plan and monthly MIS

- Work with founders to regularly look for cost reduction opportunities and optimising Working Capital

- Manage cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reports

- Ensure financial reporting systems comply with government regulations and legislation

- Lead and manage taxation, balance sheet, closing, financial statements reporting

- Coordinate with the external auditors for statutory audit and due diligence

- The person should be mature enough to handle the F&A work as well as be an advisor to the Founders in all minor & major decisions

- Ensures that effective internal controls are in place and ensures compliance with all applicable laws, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.

Ideal Profile :

- Experience: 6- 8 Years of experience in a controllership role with atleast 2-3 years of experience with early-stage startup or a B2B company.

- Qualification: Qualified CA

- Preferred Domain exposure: Any experience in working in VC-backed start-ups, B2B companies and/or fundraising would have a definite advantage

- Problem solver: You excel at understanding and solving complex problems. You have astonishing attention to detail.
