Position : Financial Controller

Experience : 7 - 11

Location : Bangalore

Job Description :

To head, oversee and be responsible for the overall functioning as well as timely, efficient and result oriented performance of the respective Teams designated for :

- Accounting;


- Budgeting;


- Internal, Statutory, Stock, Cost and Fixed Assets Audits;


- SOP's and Internal Control Policies & Procedures;


- Costing and Cost Controls;


- Regulatory and Financial Reporting;


- Reporting to Senior Management;


- Compliances under Direct & Indirect Taxation and Other Statutes;


- Payroll Management;


- Banking and Banking Relationships;


- Treasury Operations;


- Financial and Financial Risk Management;


Responsibilities :


1. Accounting :


- To supervise, mentor and efficiently manage accounting and finance teams;

- To suggest updates and improvements for accounting and finance systems, processes and controls;

- To ensure that all financial transactions are timely and accurately documented, recorded, archived and reported;

- To examine all accounting and financial data and reports closely to check for discrepancies, non-compliances and leakage of revenues;

- Support month-end and year-end reporting and closure process and ensure group deadlines are always adhered.

2. Budgeting :

- To spearhead the Budgeting Process from drafting, implementing and monitoring till the closure at every month end and year end;

- To track the Budgeting process through robust Variance Reporting and Analysis for taking timely and effective corrective measures by the Management.

3. Internal, Statutory, Stock, Cost and Fixed Assets Audits :

- To critically monitor and review the scope, frequency, parameters, policies & processes for Internal, Statutory, Stock, Cost and Fixed Assets Audits and to suggest requisite improvements from time to time for the effectiveness, desired outcome thereof and the corrective actions thereto;

- To spearhead all the processes, documentations and interactions with the internal and external audit teams for the timely and effective closure of all the scheduled, statutory and/ or specific audits.

4. SOP's and Internal Control Policies & Procedures :


- To critically review existing SOP- s, and Internal Control Policies & Procedures at desirable frequency and depth to ensure its adequacy, clarity, coverage as well as effectiveness at relevant point in time as well as to ensure that all controls, checks and balances on all the business processes, transactions, documentation, reporting and compliances are in place and effective.

5. Costing and Cost Controls :

- To critically monitor and review the Costing and Cost Control parameters, policies & processes and to suggest requisite improvements from time to time;

- To review all financial plans and budgets and coordinate with respective departments regularly to look for cost reduction opportunities.

6. Regulatory and Financial Reporting :

- In line with above matters covered under the relevant heads.

7.  Reporting to the Senior Management :

- To ensure accurate, prompt, timely and clear communication as well as Reporting (in the predefined and/ or desired formate and frequency) to the Senior Management.

8. Compliances under Direct & Indirect Taxation and Other Statutes :

- To spearhead and efficiently manage to ensure accurate and timely compliances (with zero tolerance for interests and/ or penalties for non-compliance) under Direct Taxation (including TDS Compliances, compiling and filing of Annual Return of Income, Tax Audit, Assessments, Appeals, etc) and Indirect Taxation (workings, filing periodic returns, assessments etc under GST statues) Statues;

- To ensure accurate and timely compliances under various other applicable Statues including Labour Laws (related to Provident Fund, ESIC, Profession Tax, Payment of Minimum Wages, Bonus & Ex-gratia and Gratuity), Companies Act (compiling and filing of periodic forms and returns, maintaining of Minutes of the Meeting of the Board of Directors and Members, Other Statutory Registers), Industrial Laws, FEMA and Customs;

- To ensure most efficient and user-friendly records keeping, tracking and retrieval process in respect of all the statutory records, returns, correspondences, compliances documents etc.

9. Payroll Management :

- To spearhead Payroll Processes, Functioning. Reports and Records keeping from Accounting, Auditing, Taxation and Compliance perspective.

10. Banking and Banking Relationship :

- To supervise, monitor and efficiently manage in timely and most prudent manner all the Banking Transactions as well as Banking Relationship including Line of Credits and related Documentation.

11. Treasury Operations :

- To spearhead and control all Treasury Transactions, Operations and Reports including Investments;

- To evaluate, monitor and hedge Currency and Commodity Risks on day-to-day and transaction-to-transaction basis;

- To manage daily cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reports;

- To review the existing Treasury Policies and SOP's and to recommend changes/ modifications to suit the requirements with all requisite checks and balances.

12. Financial and Financial Risk Management :

- In line with above matters covered under the relevant heads.

- Qualifications, Experience, Skill sets, Commitments and Attributes:

Qualifications and Experience :

- Chartered Accountant with 7+ years of experience in accounting and finance, out of which minimum 2-3 years should be in similar role as Financial Controller;

- Working experience in similar job profile in Manufacturing environment as well as ERP environment is preferred;

- Thorough knowledge of and working experience pertaining to accounting principles and standards of both India GAAP, Ind AS and IFRS, auditing and taxation;

- Knowledge and understanding of other statues like Banking Regulations, Company Law, FEMA, Labour and Industrial Laws, etc;

Skill Sets :

- Management experience;

- Organizational, leadership & interpersonal skills;

- Strong, clear and effective written and verbal communication skills;

- High attention to detail, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent computer, mathematical and research & analytical skills;

- Understanding of and commitment to data privacy standards.

- Working experience in Tally software.
