Finance Business Partner

As a Finance Business Partner, your responsibilities include:

- Managing provision of standardised financial and management accounting services for a business area, including all aspects of business planning, forecasting, financial reporting and control

- Providing trusted advice and support related to financial management and control to colleagues in the business area, including the head of the business units.

- Ensuring preparation and interpretation of management accounts, business plans, and forecasts related to the business area, and recommending actions based on appropriate analysis and financial appraisal

- Ensuring that effective financial controls operate across the business area, and that financial risk is understood and minimised

- Supporting maintenance of effective and efficient financial control processes and systems as they relate specifically to the business area

- Supporting the development of performance management approaches, including KPIs and dashboards

- Contributing business area knowledge and expertise in the work of colleagues across Group Finance

- Ensuring accurate preparation of all internal and external/statutory financial statements for all entities and funds related to the business area

- Working with colleagues, seeking opportunities to improve the finance service to the business area, and across the Society

- Matrix management of assigned or contributing resource

Profile

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

- Balancing the professional accounting standards, policies and practices with the operational and strategic requirements of both Group Finance and the assigned business area

- Leading teams to establish and achieve goals, based on high-level direction

- Working to a corporate-level plan with specific business areas

- The ability to overcome roadblocks and deal with strategic and operational issues as they arise

- Creativity and flexibility of approach to ensure success

- At least 6 years of relevant experience
