Field Engineers - Quality

Our client is a Fortune 150 ranked manufacturer of commercial airliners. In order to augment their Supplier Development efforts in India, they are looking to augment their Quality and Vendor Development team at Bangalore.

Main Activities

Following the guidelines and strategy and objectives of our client in the context of Supply Chain improvement and Source objectives:

- To implement a standard methodology for new product introduction ensuring that at entry into the industrialization phase the manufacturing process, is capable in terms of Quality, On Time Delivery, and Capacity for current and planned Aircraft build rates.

- To provide the actually status of suppliers’ supply chain &quality competence with “go-look-see”, develop appropriate suggestion for improvement.

- Manage Supply Chain improvement and value creation projects, and organise synergies

- Use harmonised supply chain processes, practices, methods, tools and records for the whole Supplier base and encompassing the total life cycle from pre-qualification phase to serial deliveries, and Supplier Quality problem solving for aircraft in service.

- To successfully lead the Business change by:

- Establishing the most accurate & value-added diagnoses of a Supply Chain with suppliers.

- Ensuring the Procurement strategy & policy is well implemented by Suppliers

Drive KPI’s implementation

- Assess the gap between current Supply Chain performance and company targets and drive the mitigation plan with supplier

- Support the supplier to gain continued improvement and development process

MAJOR PROBLEMS TO BE SOLVED IN THE POSITION
- Provide robust continuous improvement in the global supply chain to secure sustained performance and mitigate supply chain risks within the following areas.

- Supply Chain performance – QCD

- New Product introduction / Product transfer.

- Rate ramp up.

Technical knowledge:

- Good practical understanding of corrective, preventive and proactive problem solving

- Good practical understanding of quality management

- Good practical understanding of structure/material design /or manufacturing /or processes quality .

- Experience with project management

- Experience with lean 6 Sigma concept & tools

- Experience with shopfloor management

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

Candidates need to be BE/BTech (Mechanical) from IIT's/REC's and have an MBA in Operations. A Quality certification such as a Six Sigma Green/Black Belt will be preferred.

The positions will be on an initial contract for 9-12 months.
