Role Description

The Architecture and Strategy team within the Fidelity Personal Investments (PI) Technology organization is looking for a dynamic Enterprise Architect to help drive the effort of evolving and modernizing Digital Platform. This role expects hands-on experience and extensive knowledge on working with designing and developing capabilities used in best of class frameworks and tools. The ideal candidate will have a true passion of applying the best fit technology to solve the right problem in large enterprise scale. Working in collaboration and coordinate with technology and business leaders across the Firm, this role is accountable to help design and implement the strategic technology vision, development and delivery, operational stability and quality process improvements.

This position will be based full time in our office located in Manyata Business Park, Bangalore, India.

Responsibilities:

Architecture Discipline:

- Understand and master the current architecture landscape and how it supports business capabilities; identify improvement and innovation opportunities to ensure relevancy and alignment with long-term strategies

- Provide strategic architecture guidance, including recommended approaches, tools, techniques, and technologies

- Contribute to the multi-year technical roadmap, blueprints, and reference architecture plans

Technical Expertise:

- Leverage platforms, commonly available frameworks, and the Public cloud to meet the expectation of swift business functionality delivery

- Possess a deep understanding of various infrastructure elements and the factors impacting scale, performance, and high availability of large enterprise applications

Leadership:

- Assess and explain the present and future rationale of architecture decisions; influence partner teams

- Mediate opposing viewpoints and negotiate equitable solutions to ensure successful and stable outcomes

- Hands on leadership with the development team: recommend and assess technical solutions, ensure delivery teams are following engineering best practices, and demonstrate and guide new technology adoption

Best Practices:

- Establish, implement, and enforce appropriate architecture standards in the creation and implementation of the technical solution to ensure consistency, repeatability, and availability

- Create and maintain best practices and standards in process, design, and operations

- Support and communicate relevant IT Governance policy, procedures and processes

Candidate Description

- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including technical writing, presentations, and the ability to clearly receive and convey information to a broad array of technical and non-technical people

- Expert understanding of the software development process including analysis, design, coding, system and user testing, problem resolution and planning

- Proven delivery in application design and development of multi-tiered enterprise solutions

- Strong software design and programming fundamentals

- Understanding of:

UML and architecture modeling

- Hands-on experience with:

Major programming languages and framework (JavaScript, Java.)

Server-side technologies and development (SOAP Web Services, REST APIs)

Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure)

SQL and NoSQL database technologies (Oracle, SQL Server, Cassandra etc.)

Online Transaction Processing (OLTP)

High-volume and low-latency transaction processing

Metadata management strategies

- Expertise in Database Architectures (MPP vs SMP, In-Memory, Columnar vs Row Stores) and the Physical design implementations that are required in support of these architectures, database performance tuning, data integration architectures (EII, EAI, ETL) and technologies (such as Informatica, GoldenGate, Attunity, and Sqoop), and Data security (Encryption, Masking, Monitoring) technologies

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

- 10+ years of experience in Information Technology that may include analysis, design, evaluation, development, and implementation

- 10+ years of JAVA/J2EE experience

- Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field (e.g. Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering) or equivalent work experience

- Demonstrated architecture and personal leadership experience; able to zoom in and zoom out, understand alignment, and see the big picture

- Experience with Agile delivery

- Hands-on experience with large enterprise integration projects with external vendor products/systems

- Knowledge in architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, MODAF, and ZACHMAN

- Experience at technology and/or financial services companies highly desirable

- Experience leading software development teams: providing technical oversight and code reviews, defining coding standards and best practices
