Strategic Planning:
- Develop and implement strategic plans for the procurement of pesticides to meet the organization's needs and objectives.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce costs, and improve efficiency in pesticide procurement.
- Demand generation from existing customers by coordinating with the IoT sales team.
- Building product assortment as per the demand from the field & ensure the contribution Margins are achieved by these products.
Supplier Management:
- Identify and qualify suppliers of pesticides, negotiate contracts, and establish long-term relationships with key suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance, including quality, delivery, and cost, and take corrective actions as necessary.
- Fasal should gradually have contracts with directly key manufacturers.
Inventory Management:
- Ensure the inventory is not high at any point of time & there is a proper demand for any purchases.
- Have a contract of Stock return in case of unsold stock.
- Product should be of higher expiry and avoid buying short expiry products.
Market Intelligence:
- Conduct market research and analysis to stay informed about industry trends, pricing, and new developments in the Input space
- Anticipate changes in the market and develop strategies to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
Compliance & risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards governing the procurement of pesticides.
- Identify and assess risks related to pesticide procurement and develop risk mitigation strategies.
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders like Sales, Marketing, Agri research, Product, CS & others for their inputs & support to execute the entire business.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of procurement activities with overall business objectives.
Performance Management:
- Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of pesticide procurement activities like Gross Margins, Supplier scorecard & Timely Supplies
- Monitor KPIs regularly and make data-driven decisions to drive continuous improvement.
Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, agricultural science, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, with at least 2 years of experience specifically in the procurement of pesticides or agricultural inputs.
- Strong understanding of the pesticide industry, including knowledge of different types of pesticides, suppliers, and market dynamics.
- Proven track record of negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and driving cost savings.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience with procurement software and tools.
