Roles & Responsibilities: - Plan, organize and direct the manufacturing of slabs & other products and maintenance operation of machines for smooth running of the plant and ensuring the most effective return on assets. - Initiate plans and processes which minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities & materials. - Ensure that business objectives and production schedules are achieved while ensuring product as per customers' expectations. - Ensure all machinery is performing according to capacity. - Identify requirements of raw materials, consumables and its fulfilment for all routine production activities. - Assessment of machine efficiencies, making sure the availability of spares in advance so that production doesn't get hampered in case of repair. - Identify new areas of improvement with respect to recovery, manufacturing cost, machine utilisation & ensure timely implementation of actions. - Implement very high standards of housekeeping, safety and general upkeep of the factory. - Responsible for proper production planning in alignment with sales/marketing department, ensuring that all orders are served as per committed timeliness and full utilisation of machines. - Identify new products/technology for manufacturing other products from Granite blocks/ sandstone such as kitchen tops, tombstone, sculptures, items for home dcor etc. - Responsible for managing the entire staff & contractors at the factory and developing a highly motivated workforce Skill Set Required: Experience - Should have worked preferably in a granite slabs processing unit for 8-10 years out of which at least 3-5 years in a leadership role/ head of the unit Education - Graduate/PG with preferably engineering background
