Factors - Technical Co-Founder/CTO - Scalable Backend & Mobile App Development - IIT/NIT/BITS

An opportunity for Tech CoFounder / CTO purely on equity basis for the edtech startup Factors based in Bangalore. Looking for candidates with a passion for entrepreneurship, get-go attitude and mettle to change the rote learning system in India. This is not another test prep startup or run of the mill edtech startup, but one whose success totally depends on execution.

Role and Responsibillities:

- Technology stack and coding are the DNA of our startup, hence the ideal CTO will be knee-deep in coding with a penchant for taking technology decisions

- Candidate with minimum 3 -10 years of solid tech experience, preferably from IIT/NIT/BITS/PHDs, if not any engineering background is fine as along as he / she demonstrates the same intensity for tech development

- Lead the entire back-end and front-end technology team for Factors and act as the go-to resource with in-depth knowledge of technology and product best practices and standards.

- Build scalable backend product architecture that scales through millions of pageviews and users

- Adept at translating complex wireframes to elegant UX both on web and mobile apps

- Someone who thrives to work under pressure in an agile development setting

- Willingness to learn new technologies as required and able to incorporate machine-learning, AI and Big data as the product evolves.

Skills:

- Experience in leading the full cycle of web and mobile application development processes, from design to implementation

- Well-versed with Java (J2EE) / Python (Django), MongoDB, MySQL, HTML,CSS, JS stack for backend development

- Experience with Android and iOS development. Demonstrated ability to code independently for the apps from scratch. Must have developed 2-3 apps apriori preferably with thousands of users.

- Native android development with OpenGL experience and ability to code animations a plus

- Adept at testing best practices, test driven development, automation and continuous integration

- Experience with performance testing and optimization of the application for maximum speed and scalability

- Great analytical skills, data driven decision making and evolution with technology trends

- Exposure to data science, machine-learning and big data a plus

- Team player who is takes ownership of work, is detail and deadline oriented, with a strong work ethic

- Ability to build a technology team from scratch at a startup is a plus

What's on offer :

- Equity at the moment. No salary is on offer until we start generating the revenue and/ or the funding is secured.

- Product management, business development, social media, sales & marketing will be taken care by rest of founding team. CTO focuses only on core tech

- The position is in Bangalore and hence candidate is expected to be based out of Bangalore or willing to relocate.
