Position Overview:
- Ensure plant and machinery and facilities management to ease production, product quality and environment and safety.
- Maintaining the buildings and grounds of an organization, overseeing the upkeep of equipment and supplies, determining and scheduling repairs or renovation projects and coordinating safety inspections.
- This position is in charge of a budget and must negotiate with outside vendors for supplies, repairs, and other measures.
- Control on fixed assets.
Job Responsibilities:
- Schedule and supervise maintenance repair work and assist with checking installation and servicing building equipment.
- Maintain stock levels and parts within budget.
- Maintain ongoing communication with contractors, clients, and team.
- Overseeing any renovations, refurbishments and building projects.
- Equipment history cards.
- Attending breakdowns.
- Liaising with production on day to day activities.
- Work out modification of existing machines to improve productivity and quality.
- Development of Jigs and fixtures as and when required in coordination with production.
- Liaising with electrical department for approvals, renewals like CEIG.
- Identify requirements of plant enhancement and its plans based on Annual business plan.
- Identify machinery matrix in terms of its criticality bottlenecks.
- Analyze the process flow and study for layout changes as and when required.
Accountabilities and Performance Measures:
- Control on expenditure on account of repair and maintenance of equipment and building.
- Ensure no production loss due to machinery breakdown.
- Plan for preventive maintenance without losing production.
- Plan for minimum spares requirement.
- Daily monitoring of power consumption and report to production if any abnormalities and ensure proper energy management.
- Identify capital requirements in coordination with production team based annual business plan.
- Identify scope for improvement in terms of machinery.
- Identify cost reduction by adopting new equipment with new processes.
- Improvements in all facilities.
Qualifications and Skills required:
- Bachelor Degree (BE/B.Tech) or a suitable Engineering Degree or equivalent degree.
- Masters in Engineering or Business Administration preferable.
- Experience in manufacturing industry
- Minimum 20-25 years' experience in related field. At least 10-15 years of experience in managing / heading the department.
- Knowledge in TPM (Total Productive Maintenance).
- Understand process flow and should be able to identify bottle necks.
