All about the Role : Regulatory Consultant - Market Risk

We are seeking a skilled Market Risk Regulatory Consultant to join our dynamic team in Mumbai. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Market Risk, with a focus on asset classes, regulatory permissions for FRTB SA/IMA, and a comprehensive understanding of upcoming Basel IV requirements. The candidate should possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in Market Risk and demonstrate proficiency in risk models, methodologies, and risk management.

Experience and Skills Required:

- Market Risk Expertise: In-depth understanding of Market Risk, including asset classes, IMA model permissions (VaR, SVaR, IRC), and familiarity with upcoming Basel IV requirements (Delta, Vega, Curvature, Hedging and Diversification, Trading desks)

- Product Knowledge: Strong understanding of Market Risk product knowledge and experience in related fields such as risk models, methodologies, and risk management

- Project Management: Proven project management experience, including the ability to identify errors early in the process and challenge as required

- Numerical Skills and Documentation: Strong numerical skills, ability to articulate complex subject matter, and efficiency in Excel/PowerPoint. Ability to keep files current with precise interpretations, assessments, and thorough note-taking

- Strong communication and collaboration skills

- Immediate joiners preferred

Key responsibilities:

- Implementation Facilitation: Work closely with internal stakeholders to facilitate the implementation of new regulations, demonstrating the ability to project manage within a Market Risk framework

- Coordination: Act as a coordinator between relevant teams across Market Risk, QA, RIS, and Regulatory Relations to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.

- Regulatory Meetings: Support Exams/Risk-led meetings with regulators by preparing meeting materials and ensuring accurate recording and tracking of notes and actions. Examples include regulator/supervisory exams and in-depth reviews scheduled for 2024-2025

- Compliance Support: Assist in the Self-Assessment of compliance with new rules/regulatory permissions by coordinating, reviewing, and challenging the processes involved

Qualifications:

- Degree in a relevant field (Finance, Economics, Mathematics, etc.)

- 3+ years of experience in Market Risk

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams

- Proven ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
