Job role and responsibilities :

Be part of a new, trending solution of EY - called - Managed tax services. Managed tax services is an offering that involves going beyond the usual job profile of a tax consultant and taking on the larger role of a tax function of the company. As part of MTS, EY would take over, transform and operate the tax function of the company - EY would not only perform routine tax compliance, litigation and advisory services, but would also play the role currently performed by tax teams in companies (ie dealing with business teams, external consultants, internal reporting, data management, process improvement, etc).

Managed tax services engagements are undertaken in two phases -

Phase 1 - Planning and transition;

Phase 2 - Operating the tax function from Go-live date.

Your role would primarily be played in Phase 1. As part of you role, you would need to lead the transitioning of the client's current in-house tax function to EY. This would involve transitioning as well as transforming the current tax processes, compliances, knowledge, data,etc to build a best in class tax function for EY to then operate from the engagement go-live date. To perform your role, you would be supported by a team of various experts across levels and with different skill-sets (technology, process, tax, etc).

Towards this, your work would include:

1. Gain an in-depth practical knowledge of the tax function (incremental to high level understanding obtained during planning phase) including the following :

- Activities undertaken currently by the existing Client tax team within the Identified Areas

- Processes and protocols followed by the existing Client team for the Identified Areas

2. Suggest improved protocols and processes to handle the activities within the Identified Areas going forward

3. Engage in discussions with client management on the suggested protocol and processes to understand their comments and feedback

4. Document the protocols and processes to be implemented from go live date

5. Employ shadowing and reverse shadowing for a defined period of time during the transition period.

6. Coordinate and monitor activities to target seamless and timely transition including circulating status reports to Client management during the transition phase.
