Energy Transition and Decarbonization (ET&D) are the key focus area of today's changing energy landscape. Countries and corporations have pledged to significantly reduce GHG emissions in order to become climate neutral. In addition, decarbonization means creating long-term value for stakeholders which will ultimately not only pay off but also open up completely new business opportunities.

EY Parthenon's Energy Transition & Decarbonization Centre of Excellence works with Clients (Private Sector Conglomerates, MNCs, Independents, PE Funds, PSUs) in India and globally to create value from two broad areas:

Building Profitable Businesses at Scale in New Energies, focused on the following value pools:

- Manufacturing for new energies (Photo-Voltaic Modules, Electrolysers, Batteries, Fuel Cells)

- Renewable Energy Generation (Solar - Utility, Wind - Onshore/ Offshore, Bio-Energies)

- Energy Storage towards RTC-RE (Pumped Hydro, Battery, Compressed Air)

- Green Hydrogen as Secondary Energy Vector (along with Green Ammonia, Green Methanol)

- Transportation/ Transmission, Distribution and Application of Electricity, Bio Energy, Green Hydrogen and its derivatives

- Utility for e-mobility (Charging Infra, Battery Swapping Infra)

- Creating Shareholder Value from Decarbonization initiatives, focused on Clean Energy Adoption (Electricity, Thermal, Kinetic energy)

- Circular Economy (recycling of raw materials)

- Logistics decarbonization (targeted BEVs and FCEVs fleet)

- Process re-configuration

Your key responsibilities:

As a team member of ET&D in Mumbai/ Delhi, you will work as part of the team on driving engagements with marquee clients around

- New Energy Strategy Formulation and Building out New Energies Businesses at Profitable Scale, covering

a. Technology Partnerships,

b. Inorganic Expansion via M&A,

c. Defining and deploying the detailed New Energies Business Blueprint (Operating Model, Organization Structure, Process Excellence across Customer GTM and Supply Excellence, Value Realization),

d. Defining and deploying the future-ready digital and analytics blueprint for new energies

- Decarbonization Roadmap Definition and Implementation, covering

a. Identifying and evaluating technical options for emissions reduction

b. Defining techno-commercial charters for prioritized options including business case (Carbon-adjusted returns, investment required)

c. Defining and deploying digital and analytics tools for tracking value realization via emissions reduction in line with industry-standard protocols (e.g. SBTi)

When doing so, you will have the opportunity to work on the following:

- Contribute to refining EY's value proposition (accelerated value realization through sharp customer and supply-side insight) in each of the afore-mentioned areas

- Articulate points of view on the afore-mentioned areas, aligned to the areas of expertise within the practice; build visibility at industry events (global, india)

- Develop assets focused on New Energies value pools and Decarbonization charters (industry-specific/ fungible across industries)

- Drive account entry and penetration for key focus accounts at EY articulating and deploying EY's value proposition on Energy Transition and Decarbonization

- Identify, qualify and convert opportunities across the ET&D Strategy and Execution life-cycle focused on value delivery

- Oversee delivery of engagements in line with EY's Quality standards

- Build robust c-suite relationships at key focus accounts

To qualify for the role you must have:

- University degree (Bachelor in Engineering and/or Masters - MS, MBA)

- Specialization in energy economics, environmental sciences or similar field will be an advantage

- 8+ years of professional experience in Business consulting, leading innovation and/or consulting projects in industries (Renewable Energy, Oil & Gas, Power & Utilities Metals & Mining, Industrial Manufacturing for New Energy etc)

- Experience with Green Hydrogen, Bio-Energies (Bio-Fuels, CBG), Energy Storage will be a positive

- Passion for new business creation with hands-on approach and entrepreneurial mindset to make new business work

- New business creation skills and expertise including profound knowledge of sustainable products, services, business development, business model innovation and business case development.

h. Operations & Maintenance, Operational Excellence

i. Digital and Analytics for Clean Energy (e.g. ERP, Industrial Internet of Things (IOT), Blockchain)

j. Supply Chain Management for New Energy/ Renewables

- High motivation and passion for the clean climate agenda, deploying clean & new energies and driving decarbonization initiatives

- Team player and eager to learn new tools and roll-up sleeves to get the job done

- Entrepreneurial mindset with a pragmatic approach to problem solving, dynamic working style, well organized and structured.
