As Principal Architect, the candidate will define system architecture for a range of Extramarks products. The candidate will translate business requirements into use cases and tangible technical specifications. The candidate will work closely with internal cross-functional teams including product managers, system architects, hardware and software architects, hardware and software design engineers, test engineers and engineering management. The candidate must be able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment. Responsibilities: - Design &amp; manage large scale databases to enable a highly scalable &amp; secure microservice-based architecture. - Ability to create, communicate and drive a technical vision. o Understanding of any two architecture patterns such as MVI, MVVM, MVP, and Clean Architecture. - Ensure that the development is leveraging common methods and best practices. o Enforces consistent development patterns and security architecture. - Should have a data driven approach for solutions to problems. - Ability to spin up working prototypes and proof of concepts at tech scoping stage to demonstrate the feasibility. - Strong understanding of SOLID principles and Object-Oriented Programming Languages. o Keep up to date on the latest industry trends in mobile technologies. Ability to learn and adapt new technologies, passion for continuous improvement. - Supporting members of the team with mentoring, pairing, code reviewing and driving the adoption of best practices. o Provide high-level estimates of work for prioritization purposes. - Knowledge of working with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, Bitrise, CircleCI, TravisCI, etc. o Design OLTP and Data warehouse solutions. - Perform analysis of internal canonical data formats. o Design &amp; implement data processing pipeline in order to eliminate manual interventions. - Establish practices and procedures that work towards the continuous improvement of processes and systems. - Implement source code control system processes, source branching and maintaining multiple development branches simultaneously. Qualifications: - Overall 3+ years of experience. - Fluency in Java - Familiarity with any of these two : RxJava, RxAndroid, Dagger2, Retrofit, Android Architecture - Experience in creating libraries/frameworks/private pods for other developers. - Must have designed, developed and maintained OLTP and data warehouse solutions from scratch multiple times in a production environment. - Must have performed data exchange activities on many production projects. - Previous experience working with large databases is necessary. - Must have working knowledge of building Data Dashboards using Tableau or other similar data visualization tools. - Must have prior experience in leading projects and assisting team members. o Excellent debugging skills &amp; communication skills. - Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment. - Strong team work skills with both business and technical team members and ability to garner business support in maintaining data information. - Ability to express business and technical concepts clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing. - Highly self-motivated and directed, with a strong customer service orientation. - Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. - Ability to deliver high quality results, within the defined financial and time parameters required. - Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
