Expert - Infrastructure Management - Agriculture - Contractual Role

Key Accountabilities:

- Formulate strategic plan to introduce demand-driven and felt need-based technological interventions in the State in post-harvest storage and inventory to enhance the performance of the co-operatives

Provide strategic technical inputs to the Department in matters related to the identification of storage and layout, design criteria, handling technology, material handling, storage plan etc. to increase the degree of attainable handling efficiency

- Carry out extensive research and development to identify suitable technological interventions for high yield products of Bihar such as rice, wheat, onion, potato, jute, makhana, tea etc.

- Liaise actively with allied Departments in the State such as Animal and Fisheries, Rural Development, Agriculture and others to bring about technological advancements in the sector

Establish networks and liaisons with national and international organizations, such as ADB, FICCI, IPCA, NABARD, Food, and Agriculture Organization, ICAR, IARI (Pusa), Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Defence Agricultural Research Laboratories (DARLs) Central Bank of India for as Knowledge Partners, Technology Partners and potential funding agencies.

- Design capacity building programs/sessions, Provide guidance and support to the Department/team in relevant domain.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience :



- PG Diploma or Master's degree or higher (full time) in Agricultural Sciences / Food Technology /Agro-Processing / Logistics / Management / Business Administration / Supply Chain

- Minimum 10 years of post-qualification experience in the agriculture sector and / or cooperative sector

Preferred :

- Less than 65 years of age as on 1st January 2020

- Experience in identifying and implementing technological measures and enhancements in areas of post-harvest handling, storage, distribution and marketing etc.

- Proven track record of working with state / central government / bilateral/multilateral organizations (such as UNDP, WHO, NABARD, IFFCO, KRIBHCO, FCI, SFC, NDDB etc.) on programs of similar nature and size

- Certificates / Diploma / Courses in relevant areas will add weight to the candidature

- Honors / Awards in relevant area will be an added advantage
