Exide Energy - Cylindrical Line Manager - In Process QC

- The position of Cylindrical Line Manager of In process Quality will be Guiding and leading a team which is

- Responsible for setting up of cylindrical line setting up of In process at EESL for evaluation of cells at all stages i. e. , Electrode making, Winding, Assembly, Formation of the Product realization process.

- Responsible for ensuring 5S in respective areas i. e. , Labs, Work areas and Upkeep availability of the Line Quality Equipment's through a structured Maintenance Methodology

- Responsible for promoting continuous improvement culture and ensure better health, Safety and environment practices across the Shop floor.

- Responsible for Development and Implementation of the Quality Management System for EESL in line with ISO IATF 16949 requirements / standards.

- Responsible for Implementing Quality 4.0 in EESL with a focus on digitalisation, bringing in signal feedbacked and self-induced corrections for process adjustment, with information from MES and linking the same with that of LIMS.

- Responsible for ensuring the conduct of Statistical analysis on the line with the methods defined and with an ultimate goal of ensuring reduced Variability and closeness to the nominals specified for all product and process parameters in the Giga Factory.

- Responsible for Implementing Safety Initiatives in the Quality process in the In process Stage, in line with laid out EHS Practices.

Main Responsibilities:

- Implement the Control Plan methodology in the Shop floor towards ensuring right first stime and also with a Zero defect mind set.

- Monitor, Control and improve In process quality & report quality trends

- Identify the preventive controls from PFMEA and Cross function team review and assign inspection for significant characteristics.

- To support for trials and validation of new material, new source, new process capabilities in applicable process.

- Develop and implement the Standard Test procedures in line with the Technology and Requirements for In process Checking.

- Develop the Standard Documents and ensure accreditation to ISO IATF 16949 standard requirements.

- Taking stringent and conducting audits to ensure compliance with ISO, IATF standards.

- Periodic walk through of Procedures, control plan, Sop's, PFMEA

- To ensure periodic calibration in In process equipment's and monitor the control conditions.

- With a focus on Accuracy of results, ensure implementation of the best practices for Calibration and Measurement system analysis, with Repeatability, Reproducibility, Linearity and Stability as key drivers.

- Evaluate and Implement Lab Information Management system in the Inspection areas in Giga Factory, for smooth data transfer from equipment for release of results and movement of material for unrestricted use.

- Data Management is Key for Analysis - Ensure collection of data from source and Analyse with an aim to being in Reduced Variation in manufacturing.

- Initiation and supporting for implementation of improvement projects ( Kaizens/ Poka-Yoke /ECR's/ QCC facilitation/ six sigma)

Reports to AGM - Quality

- Ensure and promote a Zero-Defect Mindset in the Cell Manufacturing to trigger Result based process Adjustments.

- Promote the culture of continuous improvement in the Process.

- Understand and implementation of best practice from Benchmark organisations to improve the Performance.

- Monitoring and Communicating the Key Performance Indicators of the Lab.

- Collate and Implement Customer Specific Requirements and Methodologies in the evaluation process.

- Identification of training needs for self and team based on gaps in competency and skill matrix to improve next level.

- Ensure Improved performance of the through effective monitoring and Development.

- Support new product launches by ensuring evaluation is complete and accurate to the required quality standards.

- Ensuring implementation of Cost saving measures within the function.

- Ensure Zero Incidents and reduced unsafe Conditions in Floor through Continuous Assessments and Course Corrections.

Key Internal Interfaces:

R&D: For all new material and Product related

- Specifications for the inprocess Stage and sharing of results.

- Procurement: For Supplier Material related feedbacks prior and post to use in next process.

- Plants: For Monitoring of Product Characteristics requiring evaluation in lab, or using equipment's in the shop.

- Quality: For Standardisation and Deployment.

- Lab : For ensuring the required tests are completed on time for releasing the product.

Key External Interfaces:

- Lab Integrators: For developing related infrastructure of lab / Inspection room in shop.

- Equipment Manufacturers : for Commissioning and 100% availability of the equipment

DESIRED PROFILE:

Education - Bachelor's degree or above.

- Master's degree in Engineering or Science is preferred.

Experience:

- Min 10 years of experience in the New Energy Industry, Automotive Industry.

- 1-2 Years of Lithium-ion process development - Hands on Experience in Inprocess Inspections, Product Analysis, Testing, Quality Control is preferred.

DESIRED SKILLS:

Functional:

- Proficiency in usage of Inspection plans and

- Control plans for all the related tests in the product realization process.

- Specific knowledge of Cell testing standards i. e. , IS 16893, AIS 156, UN 38.

- Specific knowledge of quality management systems, e. g. , ISO IEC 17025, ISO 9001, IATF16949, 14001and 45001.

- Familiar with Leading improvements the production process using SPC and DOE techniques.

- Familiar with the battery cell evaluation process.

Behavioral:

- Excellent interpersonal communication, logical analysis, negotiation, decision-making, Proficient in business etiquette, Lab management, Quality management and other related knowledge and processes

- Excellent resource coordination, planning, process control capabilities , Urge to adopt new Developing concepts in Quality Management.
