The purpose of the position is to provide entrepreneurial leadership to the organisation such that it meets both the business goals and has an impact on the larger social sector.

This ED will be the custodian of the mission, philosophy, values and culture of the organisation, and ensure that these are consistently applied across the organisation. Will maintain highest integrity standards, ensure a positive and vibrant workspace. Will create the core leadership team to implement all retail fundraising operations and ensure revenue goals are met. Manage staff performance, ensure transparency and accountability standards. Establish adequate back end systems, processes, and infrastructure for fund, donor and client management.

The ED's purpose will be to provide leadership in meeting all acquisition and retention business targets. The position will have a large team functioning under its leadership, and so will have critical budget management roles around income and expenditure.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Business Operations:

The Executive Director will create and execute fundraising business plans, establish annual budgets and oversee income and expenditures. Plan all resources required like human resource and other assets like equipment, systems etc. Continually review and update policies and procedures to ensure that they comply with local regulations and best practice standards. Provide monthly or quarterly reports/ presentations to the

Chief Executive Officer, the Board; working with Senior Management Team is also an important management responsibility.

2. Business goals:

The ED will have overall responsibilities of building long term partnerships with the non-profit clients by negotiating and signing MoUs. Operationalise fundraising plans for acquiring donations from individual Indians using offline and online methods. Manage team expenditure within approved budgets; work with the training and academic unit of the organisation to develop effective donor management strategies and mechanisms; and also to ensure the team of fundraisers are appropriately trained and mission aligned.

3. Public Relations:

- Representing the organisation at sectoral events is an important part of the ED's role. The position cultivates positive and collaborative relationships with existing and prospective non-profit clients and sector leaders. The ED also mediates conflicts or professional differences internally within the team and/or externally with the clients.

4. People Management: The ED is responsible for managing all fundraising staff and also recruit when there are open positions. The position establishes performance goals for all fundraising personnel, evaluates their performance, coaches them throughout the year to help each employee to perform at their best.

5. Accountability: Ensure all statutory and organizational adherence for reporting, policies, standard procedures, etc. Develop highest accountability and transparency standards driven by a voluntary desire to be accountable to all stakeholders. Develop key performance indicators for all fundraising functions and positions that will be central to performance, management plans and internal reporting requirements.

Skills and Competencies

1. A seasoned leader with high energy and a vision, who demonstrates a strong and sustained commitment to the social sector.

2. Minimum two decades of non-profit fundraising practitioner with around twelve years of fundraising leadership role with national and international non-profits.

3. Highly developed subjective knowledge of various types of retail fundraising operations- offline and online, and the developmental sector itself.

4. Advanced level of aptitude in providing leadership to large teams, fundraising data analysis, conflict management, business negotiations, budgeting, planning, business development and operational strategies.

5. Advanced knowledge of fundraising management systems (CRM). Highly organised and ability to work around deadlines.

6. Astuteness to optimally and effectively function in a diverse and complex environment.
