Manager - ICT Research  Job description :  - Woks hands-on on complex research assignments as the project manager and ensures exceptional client delivery.  - Manages EVS Team of research analysts - Coaches, provides feedback and motivates team members (4 to 8) through clear communication, appropriate delegation and targeted intervention to ensure high quality output.  - Develops deep expertise in specialized research tools, databases and sources; may focus on specific data classes (e.g., demographics, micro-economics, technical, etc.)  - Should be able to bring an industry understanding of their client's organization which would include products, customer segments, competitive forces and trends shaping the industry.  - Should have flair to work across different sectors within the ICT/ value chain and good business acumen.  - Takes pro-active role in quality control process for the client and coaches and mentors more junior staff.  - Identifies and recommends potential strategic markets and solution areas by cross referencing available primary and secondary data along with prior knowledge of ICT and business processes.  - Analyzes competitive market strategies through analysis of related competitor products and services along with identification of future trends and offerings.  - Writes research reports (PowerPoint and Word) post analyzing data from industry reports such as Gartner, IDC, Forrester, GfK, Strategy Analytics, TeleGeography, Ovum, etc.   - Performs market segment and sizing studies, opportunity analysis & technology analysis.  - Provides competitive intelligence by preparing deliverables around Scorecards, Competitive Newsflashes, Competitive Briefs, Summaries of Earning Calls, etc.   - Conducts and initiates various training and allied activities with the team and the group  Skill Set Required :  - Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.  - Strong thought leadership to create intelligent research frameworks to deliver best possible consultative output within the given constraints (time, cost, resources).  - Strong communication skills and command of the English language (verbal and written) would need to engage unstructured client communications quite consistently.  - Ability to think on the feet and deploy optimal course of action accordingly.  - Seasoned research professional with a strong focus on ICT industry.  - Updated with current events in the industry and ability to identify key trends shaping the industry.  - Knowledge of major players in the industry and competitive landscape.  - Understanding of industry standard processes and methodologies.  - Highly adept in understanding business issues and translating them into research priorities.  - Ability to ensure that tasks within areas of responsibility are completed in a timely manner.  - Effective communicator with excellent relationship building & interpersonal skills.  - Challenging current thinking by implementing new ways of working.  - Possess a flexible & detail oriented attitude.  - Ability to identify pro-actively ways to contribute to firm's goals & mission.  - Ability to understand the consulting business environment, language, and processes.  - Ability to manage people (mentoring).  - Knowledge of major customer segments, common products and product types Education and experience.  - The right candidate should have worked for 4-8 years with a reputed business research firm in technology research and analysis.  - Good knowledge on IT databases and latest MS Office tools is required - Graduate/Post Graduate.  Skill Set Required : Business Research  Experience : 4-8 Years
