We are excited to be searching for a proactive and pragmatic Value Chain Analyst with an interest in supply chain sustainability to join our team, and we hope it's you!

Your role

- As Value Chain Analyst, you use your analytical and consulting skills to support our partners in analysing and improving the performance of their Service Delivery Models (SDMs) for smallholder farmers. Our team analyses the SDMs of 100+ companies using our own data-driven methodology.

- Following the lead of an SDM manager, you carry out SDM analyses of these companies' business models and provide them with strategic advice on innovating and scaling their smallholder business strategy.

- Coordinating the collection of data and proactively coming up with solutions when data availability or quality challenges exist is part of your responsibilities. You also build financial models showing companies how their SDMs impact their performance and that of the farmers they serve. To facilitate discussion and inform the decision and strategy making of the companies, you convert outcomes into clear visualizations. Finally, you are responsible for managing the analysis process, ensuring delivery against agreed deadlines and planning country visits.

- You will be part of the SDM team consisting of managers and analysts (10) spread across the Netherlands, Kenya, and India. Together with your colleagues you build effective relationships with our partners, to ensure that SDM analyses are seen as added value. Next to that, your role requires regular travel to the field operations of companies (when travel regulations allow).

Core job functions:

- Support in building and managing effective relationships with our partners, ensuring that the process of undertaking SDM analyses are seen as adding value to our partners.

- Conduct quantitative and qualitative SDM analyses of individual companies under the lead of an SDM manager, including profit and loss projections for smallholders and companies.

This will include travel to the field operations of individual companies.

- Qualitatively understand, describe and visualize the SDM and its components, both at a strategic (objectives, challenges, opportunities) and operational (operating model, design, partnerships) level.

- Build business models that show the profitability for companies, smallholder farmers, their interdependence, and their sensitivity to various changes (e.g., price volatility, default rates, impact of services).

- Drawing on the insights from your analysis, provide strategic advice to partners on the design of their SDM.

- Support in distilling high-level learning, trends and best practices from your own company engagements; and transform them into actionable insights for the Farmfit learning community.

- Support the SDM analysis process with coordination and administration.

- Support data collection, efficiently and proactively come up with solutions when data availability or quality challenges exist.
