Role Outline/Job Summary :

The Global Research Center (GRC) of Global Bank's Research in Mumbai is a full research office working with Equities Research, Equity Quant Research and Strategy, Economics Research, Commodities Research, and Rates Research. It also handles various critical functions such as Research Distribution, Global Data Services, Modeling and Risk Management.

- The Associate / Analyst group in Mumbai GRC is segregated into sector Pods covering Financials, TMT, Energy / Utilities, Consumer & HealthCare, Industrials, Metals & Mining, Quants and Economics.

Role and Responsibilities :

- The role will focus on the coverage of companies in the EUR Transport sector. You will work on commercial and financial analysis of company performance, financial modelling, and valuations. As you grow into the role and reach the desired level of understanding / expertise of the investment theses / sector knowledge, you will have a chance to write equity research on companies and wider industry themes, and based on available opportunities, meet the management of companies, accompany the lead analyst for client meetings, and also interact directly with clients. Given the size of the coverage, you will be a very active member of the team and have plenty of scope to demonstrate your skills and capabilities.

Types of projects / tasks may include, but are not limited to :

- Creation and maintenance of excel models for industry sub-sectors and companies under coverage

- Tracking of sector news and non-covered companies as well as analysis of periodic statistical data

- Constant collaboration / information exchange with fellow associates covering the

- Transport sector across geographies

- Background analysis as a part of active research on a company / theme

- Maintenance research products such as preview notes, results notes and sectoral data trends.

- Completion of ad hoc client requests, often to tight deadlines

- Assistance in initiation of coverage on new stocks and project deal reports

- Preparation of marketing presentations for lead analysts

- Support in developing new products

Education : The candidate will hold one of the follows: CA (preferably from Big Four Accounting Firms) or MBA from a premier academic institution. CFA Certification is preferred.

Experience :

- 3-5 years of equity research experience with basic knowledge of Transport sector (airports, airlines, shipping and Logistics) is preferred.

Skills :

- Strong financial and analytical skills to critically dissect earning reports and develop detailed financial models to produce rigorously supported valuations.

- Good data management and analysis skills and a high degree of comfort with Excel;

- should be comfortable in maintaining and updating databases.

- Good writing skills (good at structuring the report and articulating the key findings); ability to synthesize ideas in clear, logical written English.

- Transport sector knowledge is preferred but not mandatory.

- Familiarity with research databases such as Bloomberg is favorable.

- Strong interpersonal skills for dealing with companies and overseas colleagues.

- Ability to work under time constraints, handling multiple priorities, with minimal supervision, and in a team environment.

- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

- The candidate should be a pragmatic self-starter;, who can work independently if the analyst is traveling or as part of a team.
