Epsilon Carbon - Head - Manufacturing Operations

Responsible for performing entire factory operations- Production, EHS, Planning & Quality Control, Maintenance, Operations, Projects, Process Improvements, Technical Services, People Management and Material Management. Follows all quality procedures, safety regulations, and policies as set forth by the company. Ensures company strategies are followed and goals are successfully met.

The Candidate must have experience in handling production/operations for the chemical industry

Responsibilities :

- Actively participate in discussions with senior management to advance manufacturing strategy, by providing inputs on current capacities, prior performance, current and foreseeable challenges etc.

- Lead operational excellence at the site-level to meet On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) and quality targets in a cost-effective manner.

- Drive capacity enhancement and manufacturing productivity through continuous improvement projects and batch size optimization.

- Ensure network optimization and capacity balancing through timely execution of site transfer projects.

- Lead the adoption of new technologies at the site to drive operations and cost optimization.

- Proactively work with product line management, engineering, service and other departments to incorporate best practices into the manufacturing environment.

- Ensure all-time audit readiness of site. Review site operations periodically.

- Partner with internal global leaders and external key stakeholders, regarding technical support for activities, striving for best in class products and business practices to deliver to the customer's expectations, managing teams and projects across the business.

- Work collaboratively, negotiate and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with the manufacturing strategy.

- Communicate to the stakeholders, the impact of technology change and potential effects on supply. Recommend solutions without compromising quality or service while optimizing cost.

- Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on manufacturing activities.

- Report on manufacturing activities on a regular basis to the senior management team, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of the relevant Key Performance Indicators.

- Drive Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) across all areas of the manufacturing function to ensure that all projects are delivered on cost and on time to the highest quality standards.

- Ensure that Environmental, Health & Safety, manufacturing and quality standards and procedures are adhered to at the plant; any related issues are prioritized and facilitated in time.

- Own the annual manufacturing budget and forecasts, oversee adherence to all CAPEX and OPEX proposals. Manage the budget and financial performance of the plants, ensure alignment to all Ethics, Risk & Compliance policies and manage key processes.

- Manage all people-management related processes (manpower budget, recruitment, performance management, coaching). Identify and build key capabilities, talent pipeline and ensure proper development of assigned people, thus creating an environment conducive to high performance.

1. Production & Operation :

- Overseeing production related tasks including planning, procurement, control & troubleshooting for achieving the planned periodic schedules.

- Independently Lead and manage a Chemical Plant Operation from conceptualization to erection, installation, commissioning, performance guarantee test including monitoring and controlling of projects.

- To prepare and implement Project Execution Plan (PEP) and Project Procedures and completion in right time.

- Preparing & implementing Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.

- Implementation of all applicable quality standards.

- Implementing cost saving measures to achieve substantial reduction in terms of production, raw materials, manpower and machine utilization.

- Managing inventory control. Resourceful at strategizing techniques for maximum utilization of manpower/machinery.

- Responsible for daily production, cost reduction, data analysis, troubleshooting, Production planning, and Budget.

- Implementing systems, processes and procedures to facilitate smooth functioning of overall operations, enhance operational efficiency and cost optimization.

- Coordinate plant activities through planning with departments managers to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.

- Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production and quality standards etc.

2. Process Engineering

- Driving process improvement strategy and ensure maximum efficiency in various operations.

- Overseeing the performance of subordinates, training, mentoring / motivating them to improve their contribution levels.

- Drive initiatives towards monitoring the daily process activities, tuning of equipments by reducing down time, deploying innovative techniques for reducing batch time and thereby increasing the productivity.

- Ensuring compliance to quality standards & maintaining all related documents.

- Improving the existing systems by adding treatment chemicals in order to obtain consistency in product quality to serve application-oriented customers & implemented systems in order to obtain a by-product.

3. People Leadership

- Identifying deficiencies in Operation / Production / Business system

- Demonstrate leadership, communication proficiency, decision making, problem solving and analysis, financial management, business acumen.

Complaints resolution

- Ability to effectively communicate throughout all levels of an organization.

- To manage Contract Cadre people and wage settlement.

4. EHS

- Undertaking regular inspections to prevent accidents and adhere to safety norms

- Quality and EHS audits of customers as well as technical support to customers

- Preparation of MIS report and present the same before Management.

- Ensure imparting of technical training and creating a good environment at the site to allow the workforce to work motivated and to reduce attrition & improve productivity.

- Planning for overall reliability and safety of plant, personnel and production processes.

5. Other responsibilities

- Perform any other duties may be assigned by the Management as and when needed.
