Enterprise/Principal Architect - SaaS Application & Platform

KRA's :

- Review and implementation of best practices like Twelve-Factor App methodology to enable applications to be built with portability and resilience when deployed

- Conduct internal penetration (security) tests and resolve vulnerability along with educating team members on how to write better secured applications

- Implement continuous inspection of code quality using SonarQube etc to perform automatic reviews with static analysis of code to detect bugs, code smells, and security vulnerabilities

- Conduct AWS Well-Architected Framework review and resolve across the five pillars for designing and operating reliable, secure, efficient, and cost-effective systems in the cloud.

- Conduct PSR tests for all applications, identifying bottlenecks and resolve them so that platform and application are performing and meeting the customer expectations

- Review all applications and standardize the design and approach so that it is easy run and maintain and add new features

- Contribute to the shared platform that advances workflow and in-app capabilities and also help the team in an hands-on roles (design and development)

Competencies/Skills :

Technical Skills :

- SaaS, Platform, Microservices, Multi-Tenancy, Cloud (AWS), Java spring boot and working knowledge of OOPS, REST and Microservices

- Big Data (i.e. NoSQL, Hadoop, CDW knowledge in addition to RDBMS), EMR, Athena, Redshift

- Architect and build next-generation cognitive sourcing systems. Develop various sub-systems that set and raise the bar on quality, operability, and scalability

- Strong knowledge of the solution and architecture design patterns and best practices in an architecture framework like 12 factor app, TOGAF, Zachman, MODAF, IAF etc.

- Working knowledge of a technical reference architecture and ability to create POC and work in production environments

- Ability to design, develop, test, and document for large applications and enterprise architecture with Open Source Technologies

- Proficient experience with Integrations and security principals, APIs, microservices, SSO, OAuth, and owning and creating complete solution architectures

- Fluency in several programming languages such as SQL, Java, and Python with the ability to pick up new languages and technologies quickly

Process Skills :

- Knowledge and experience of modern software development methodologies including Agile/Sprint etc

- Good working knowledge of DevOps, automated testing and static code analysis

- Work with agile technical teams, product owners, delivery consultants, and business teams to ensure that solutions are effective and in compliance with the overall enterprise architecture strategy and domain standards.

- Experience working and managing enterprise product development teams

- Passionate about distributed systems, including caching, streaming, and indexing technologies on the cloud

- Consistency creates optimal design adhering to architectural best practices, considers scalability and performance of systems/ contexts affected

- Conducts code reviews to provide guidance on engineering best practices and compliance with development procedures

- Be an authority, and lead the tech strategy and outcomes. Liaison with peer teams within and outside Search & Discovery to define technical interfaces for system dependencies

- Comfortable translating vague problems into pragmatic solutions that open up the boundaries of technical possibilities and inspire others to follow.

Experience :

- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or technical equivalent

- 15+ years technology experience in product development with 5+ years of experience with architecting technology solutions.

- Development or consulting technical background is preferred (i.e. depth as well as breadth of knowledge)

- Proficient ability to produce detailed component specifications as part of a solution architecture

- Proficient ability to provide advice on technical aspects of systems development, integration, disaster recovery, and implementation

- Proficient ability to produce evaluation criteria used to shortlist suppliers during product selection

- Proven ability to understand both the business processes and the systems processes that enable them

- Demonstrable confidence and enthusiasm about technology, innovation, and problem solving

- Solid understanding of Enterprise applications, infrastructure, data, governance, processes, security and creating and applying an enterprise framework to align applications, data, infrastructure, technologies, etc. within the enterprise

- Familiarity with Chatbots, IoT, NLP, voice driven-development (ie, Alexa) and event driven architecture expertise

- Knowledgeable on Cloud and leveraging cloud to optimize applications and infrastructures, application databases and transactional systems
