Role details:

Title / Designation: Engineering Manager

Reporting Manager: SBU Head

Location: Chennai (Remote)

Role & responsibilities:

- Translate product architecture to technical roadmap, aligned with business objectives, socialising engineering decisions to business and other stakeholders

- Ensure on-time development, delivery and deployment, driven by an Agile mindset and with sharp focus on NFRs (non-functional requirements)

- Frequently contribute to low level design and code review activities, including hands-on dipstick design and coding activities, to lead by example

- Hire, onboard, mentor, train, develop, evaluate and grow (award, reward and promote) individuals, who, in turn, can build the team as greater than the sum of its parts

- Collaborate with Sales and Product Management teams, as a sounding board and solutions provider from the Engineering side

Candidate requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or related field)

- 8+ years of hands-on design and development experience of secure, scalable, performant and reliable business web applications with latest web technologies

- 3+ years of engineering leadership experience

- Well versed in SOLID, DRY principles, Object Oriented Design & various design patterns

- Well versed with data structures and algorithms

- Strong experience in server-side technologies (such as Java and Spring Boots/PHP/Node.js, MySQL) and frontend technologies (such as React.js)

- Agile mindset and relevant delivery experience

- Great communication skills to articulate solutions and communicate effectively to all stakeholders
