Engineering Manager
We are looking for passionate and self-driven engineering leaders to join our Bangalore engineering center. You would be responsible for leading a team of exceptional engineers to build world-class and truly differentiated software products in the online travel space.
Responsibilities:
- Drive the technical roadmap, manage business goals, contribute to product strategy, Inspiring and Leading a highly talented cross-functional team of engineers to deliver highly scalable and available consumer software products, owning and ensuring the stability and quality of the products.
- Be able to roll up the sleeves and gets hands dirty through problem-solving, coding, troubleshooting as necessary and when required, ensuring a deep technical culture in the team and unparalleled product quality.
- Hire, Mentor, nurture and continuously develop engineering capability within the team; Provide technical leadership and be a motivational leader in coaching team members to achieve and outperform their perceived capabilities
- Foster an inclusive culture and accountability in the team, Encourage cross-team collaboration.
- Provide complete visibility into the current state and future plan of the program to all stakeholders in a timely manner
- Constantly strive for operational excellence by defining best practices/processes for software development and champion their adoption
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, designers, engineers to design, develop and deploy our products; Partner with other teams across the company, ensuring cross-organization alignment and great chemistry with product, engineering and business/ operations.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor or Masters in Computer Science with 8-10 years of total work experience in a software product company, preferably in a consumer-facing set-up, with at least 2-3 years of experience in managing projects and leading teams.
- Experience owning highly-available and scalable consumer-facing software systems
- Strong technical background with a proven record of individual technical accomplishments
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to make quick decisions in high-pressure environments.
- Demonstrated negotiation, influencing and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of team dynamics have the ability to inspire highly-talented engineers and develop team-level leaders
- Experience with Agile methodologies.
- Nice to have - travel domain experience.
