Engineering Manager - Analytics

EM for Analytics:

Purpose: Lead and manage the analytics team . This will involve leading and managing a team of 5 to 10 product engineers and tech leads. The company generates massive amounts of data. The mission of analytics team is to make tools that help everyone to analyze this data in a way that’s fast and fun.

Reporting: VP-Engg

Key Responsibilities:

- Ensure implementation of formal processes to support the product development process.

- Hands-on Project management

- Motivate the staff and manage and subsequently grow the Engineering team.

- Interact with the Senior Leadership Team and Product Management to help define and evolve the product roadmap

- Provide technical guidance and direction for all Product development

- Hands on involvement at least at the Proof-of-concept, prototyping levels.

- Extract the best out of the Engineers and drive the periodic appraisal process.

Qualifications:

Experience

- 8 to 12 years’ experience

- Hands on professional experience in software development and people management.

- Should have experienced the life cycle of a fairly complex technical platform

- Should have prior experience working with big data technologies like Hadoop, Hive and Pig and MPP databases like vertica, greenplum, etc.

Skillsets

- Great with people: Should have demonstrated team building and leadership skills.

- Strong project management skills

- Strong technical back ground and hands on experience with analytics projects.

- Excellent communication skills both oral and written

Education

- Bachelor's/ Masters/ PhD in Computer Science or related stream
