Engineering Lead - Software Development - EdTech

- Architecting, designing, building and deploying software products & applications

- Experience in a Digital Engineering team of a Top 50 IT Services company with responsibility to manage projects independently

- Experience as part of the CTO organization of a startup doing business over the Web - leading a team with the responsibility of a significant application across multiple release cycles

Experience with an EdTech company will be advantageous

- Strong technical hands-on experience in software engineering

- Architecture, Design, Development of Web/Cloud native applications

-  Awareness of engineering best practices for internet scale, high availability applications

- Clickstream processing, data products, pipelines and analytics

- Agile software development with a product mindset

- Familiarity with each stage of the design & development lifecycle

- Ability to review & critique the work done by architects, tech leads, and software engineers

- Quality mindset & obsessive attention to detail. Experience of building products for global audiences

- Awareness & appreciation level skills in UI/UX

- Project/Process Management

- Proven ability to manage technology teams

- Ability to lead requirements gathering, analysis, and design workshops & manage stakeholder expectations and tech debt

- Continued ability & currency of skills to participate & lead engineering design in chosen technical areas to inspire & motivate team members

- Responsible for leading the core digital engineering team consisting of technical leads, fullstack engineers, data engineers, DevOps engineers, etc.

- Full accountability for the engineering of identified platform components and tools as per the overall GPS learning products & solutions strategy

- To contribute to innovation in the use of technology to drive superior learning outcomes & experience for our learners

- Ensure high quality of the products developed

- Plan people requirements based on the approved product build/release plan

- Work with the Learning Products Design & Development Head and the Delivery Head to ensure the product proposition & vision is fully realized through innovative software products & tools

- Recruit technical leads and deploy them as per capacity requirements

- Oversee the recruitment, training & deployment of Fullstack software engineers & specialists to ensure smooth execution of the build plan

- Work with Delivery teams to fix quality issues reported from the field

- Implement a CI/CD model to ensure continuous improvement of products during their lifecycle

- Systematically, track and publish key metrics related to the product development lifecycle

- Identify automation opportunities to improve productivity of development
