Engineering Head - Software Development - Healthcare/Pharma

About the Role:

The Head of Engineering is a Leadership role presiding over the entire Frontend and Backend development teams of all the product and platform line, reporting directly to the Country Head, India. He/She drives the vision, design, strategy, and engineering culture in order to support the business.

Objectives and Responsibilities of the Head of Engineering:

Technical Leadership:

1. Define the strategy and tech stacks for the business, set up the engineering culture with the required tools and frameworks for design, development and devops.

2. He/She should be abreast with the new and upcoming technologies in the market. He/She should be able to technically guide the team on the best technology and how to get the technical solution to the challenges and provide technical leadership.

3. He/She is also responsible for understanding the market needs for the product by working closely with Product Management, Customer Success and Customer Stakeholders and recommending the best approach for developing/iterating the product accordingly. Stay up to date by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques and computing equipment, participate in educational opportunities, read professional publications, maintain and grow personal networks, participate in professional organizations.

Supervisory/Leadership Role:

1. The Head of Engineering is also responsible for creating and managing the Engineering culture of hi-speed, end customer process usage focused and highly technical team.

2. In this position, the Head of Engineering manages the day-to-day activities of the engineering teams as well as the management and execution of product development against the planned releases of the product.

Strategy:

1. In this capacity, the Head of Engineering develops strategic plans with regard to the technical development of the product and establishes the business's technical vision that guides all aspects of technological development.

2. The Head of Engineering, at this capacity is responsible for the overall product development life-cycle and building and managing the product roadmap as perthe market needs.

Knowledge:

1. The Head of Engineering stays abreast of leading and cutting-edge technologies and industry best practices.

2. He absorbs relevant and suitable technology based on the projected benefits to the engineering development departments.

Essential Technology Skills:

- Write maintainable & testable code in Python that is consistent with cloud related architecture principles.

- Build Cloud Native applications from a domain driven design and micro-services architecture perspective supporting multiple API versions
