Engineering Director : The role is as Head of Engineering for our Technology development team and is based in Chennai or Pune. As head of engineering, the candidate will be responsible for the overall architecture, design, and roadmap for evolution and modernization of core applications in the group. The role requires a high level of expertise in hands-on experience of developing highly scalable and robust platforms. The individual is not required to have team management responsibilities but is expected to guide &amp; work with the development teams on platform changes, and as a hands-on engineer contribute to the code. Responsibilities : - Lead the Engineering &amp; Architecture function of a large software development group - Engage with technical and business stakeholders to define and design solution concepts - Improve scalability within the platforms and work on cloud-migration strategy. - Set high engineering standards and drive for adoption of advanced tools and methodologies for improved efficiency and quality - Improve the quality of software, and CI/CD processes. - Improve the quality, breath and consistency of testing. - Drive innovation activities within the group, and evaluate emerging technologies, capabilities and solutions that can take the product to a higher adoption and user satisfaction levels - Contribute to the bank community by providing technical leadership, mentoring the team, promoting knowledge sharing and adoption of good practice. Experience &amp; Qualifications : - Academic degree in Computer Science or equivalent. - Product understanding of Fixed Income products is an added benefit. - 15+ years of IT experience, with focus on application development. - Proven experience in designing &amp; building complex but high performing systems, and track record of continuous improvement. - Technical Proficiency in technologies like Java/J2EE, Microservices, Oracle DB, and Messaging services like Kafka. - Good understanding of cloud and experience in migrating applications to cloud (internal/public) - Excellent communication skills. - Self-motivated and willingness to learn.
