Encore Asset Reconstruction Company Private Limited is an asset reconstruction company duly registered with the Reserve Bank of India. It is a subsidiary of Encore Capital Group, Inc (- Encore- ) and joint venture between Encore, International Finance Corporation (a member of the world bank group) and ADV Partners (a Singapore based PE fund). It purchases defaulted consumer loans from major banks, credit unions, and utility providers and works directly with consumers as they repay their obligations. Encore currently has operations and investments in 11 countries. This position will manage and corporate legal & CS affairs for our business based out of Gurgaon, India. This position will also be responsible to provide advice on legal issues concerning corporate governance, ethics, contracts, and employment related issues. Candidates must have a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and enforce legal policies and procedures and in managing teams. What does the role hold for you? - To assist in the day-to-day legal support through individual and team contributions and through effective management of external and internal legal resources to ensure that the Company is compliant with all applicable laws. - To partner with internal teams to assist with making effective improvements in the business processes, training, policies, and procedures, that are related to legal issues. - To negotiates, drafts and prepares contracts and other legal documents. Author correspondence, legal memoranda, and reports. - To assist with investigations, providing responses to government agencies, regulators, and litigation support. - Assist with corporate governance and the corporate secretary function, including preparation of materials for board of directors and committee meetings in India. What are we looking for? - LLB from top tier law school (NLS/NLU/ Delhi University etc.). CS batch of 2010 or before - Should include experience with law firm, entities with foreign stakeholders/ joint ventures - should have hands on approach, should be open to work in an unstructured environment and willing to take challenges - Resides in Gurugram/ Faridabad/ South Delhi or open to relocate to Gurugram
