Employee Relations Manager

The JD for the position is as follows :

ER Manager-Pepsico beverages PVT Ltd.

Main Purpose –

- The purpose is to envisage and implement MU level ER strategy in line with the national ER strategy in order to ensure that there is proactive wiring with all internal/external stakeholders resulting in harmonious employee relations and uninterrupted plant operations. The role will not only lay out the roadmap for strategic ER interventions at the MU level but also feed into the development of India Bev ER Strategy and AOP Plans.

- At the MU level, it will translate the ER Vision into byte size actionable/ deliverables and lead the implementation journey across all plants in the MU.

Job Dimensions –

- The role spans across all 5 plants and S&D establishments in West Market Unit.

- Will work in close co-ordination with National Tech Ops Lead, MUHRM, MU LPM, MUGM, Unit Managers, Plant Managers, Plant Leadership Team to impact the Tech Ops transformation agenda.

Accountabilities –

- Design and implement the MU ER Strategy in close partnership with MUGM, MUHRM and MU LPM and Unit Managers.

- Obtain senior management support / buy-in on all key initiatives and resources required for ensuring its success.

- Create employee productivity metrics and drive performance oriented culture at the plant level.

- Ensuring proactive connect with the environment through appropriate community outreach initiatives.

- Drive ring fencing initiatives at MU level by mapping all plants and S&D set ups from the viewpoint of external environment and trade union management complexity.

- Develop norms/ templates to connect with external environment, trade union & communities and ensure adherence to the same at MU level.

- Develop and constantly review our strategy/ approach on Long term settlements at the MU level.

- Wire with the state level external leaders to ensure harmonious plant operations and ongoing business in all parts of WEMU, and build appreciation of PepsiCo’s business and its contribution to workmen’s welfare.

- Create MU level Ops engagement calendar by standardizing plant engagement calendars/ external connect calendars and tracking adherence to the same. Report the same to BU on a monthly basis.

- Lead the stat compliance journey for all plants and other establishments in the MU

- Drive ER appreciation sessions for our L1+ employees across plants and share knowledge nuggets on Labor Laws, tools to handle grievances, escalation process etc.

- Design and implement business appreciation/ team working sessions for internal/ external union leaders at the MU level.

- Proactively ensure positive portrayal of company’s image in local media and amidst government authorities.

- Lead plant diagnostics vis a vis culture, structure, manning norms etc and come up with a clear action plan to improve the same. Monitor its progress and report at MU/ BU level.

- Lead the team cohesiveness journey at plant leadership levels through structured interventions/ modules.

- Partner the MU/ Plant team in driving the TPM journey across all plants in the MU to ensure significant progress towards achieving Level 1 certification at agreed locations.

- Drive safety at plant level by ensuring safety KPIs as part of PDR, monthly safety committee meetings, establishing MU level Safety Steering Committee (to lay down safety guidelines and review progress).

- Support the plant management in driving statutory compliance and tracking its implementation.

- Work towards improving inter functional appreciation at MU/ Sales/ Plant Level (Finance vs Sales; Supply Chain Vs Plant; Sales Vs Supply Chain etc).

Profile

Key Skills/Experience Required –

Experience and Qualification

- MBA (HR) from a reputed business school with 8-10 yrs experience of handling HR.

- Strong leadership and communication skills, presentation, analytical, inter personal skills.

- Strong wiring and external connect skills; demonstrated skill of handling multi locational / multi union scenario.

- Strong focus on delivery and results with high drive and energy levels.

- High levels of persuasion and facilitation skills

- Knowledge of employment laws

- Experience of handling legal issues and litigations in courts

- Long term settlement with Unions and Industrial relations.

Skills and Behavioral Attributes

- Strategic thinking.

- Ability to Set the agenda and drive the same.

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, influencing and persuasion skills.

- Ability to collaborate and work with the BU/MU Ops teams & Plant teams.

- Ability to work with cross- functional teams.
