Prepare for, and facilitate CEO meetings - Custodian of Governance Process
- Help CEO prioritize things between - Vitals, Essentials, and Desirables
- Create groundwork for CEO for each of the projects/ meetings
- Help CEO meet his schedules - be the policemen at times
- Set objectives and - deliverable- out of each CEO interaction with stakeholders
- Take - To Be Actioned- point from each meeting, create MOMs, assign responsibility and circulate to respective role-holders
- Monitor progress/achievement and discuss & deploy next steps with the CEO
- Work with CEO's Personal Assistant to ensure appropriate and timely communication to participants
Helping CEO manage - current projects
- Develop and maintain critical path for projects
- Be the PMO for all critical projects as assigned by CEO
- Regularly communicate and work with HOD's to align their actions in support of agreed goals.
- Track all projects and ensure that progress is being made in a timely way
- Flag-off non-compliance - let the system know when things are falling through the cracks
Independent leadership of - special projects :
- Incubate ideas / special projects that can add value to business
- Scope, plan and execute multiple, often quick-turnaround projects, with minimal outside assistance
- Be independently productive on - assigned projects- and deliver desired results
- Oversee transfer of projects to other stakeholders, when incubated
Research on related and non-related topics. Develop draft communications
- Research for CEO so as to reach from - random to specific information that can translate into tangible business direction and data-point for making decisions
- Deliver approach-notes, white-papers, quick notes, one-pagers, to CEO so as to help him understand unrelated topics in the shortest time possible.
- Remain sounding-board to CEO - provide pros and cons to the CEO
- Create intelligent communication drafts for all occasions, be it media or internal communication
- Help CEO create a strong brand value for the organization by communicating effectively
- Conduct fact checking-in support of all communications.
- Represent the CEO at outside forums that the CEO cannot attend. Often, this will mean accompanying another EM3 executive to a meeting.
Maximiser of CEOs efficiency :
- Give quick facts to CEO on business performance - MIS, Revenues, Shortfalls, and keep adding-deleting what CEO should see on a daily basis
- On day-to-day basis, independently take-up, problems that are dragging the business and helps CEO unleash an aggressive business agenda
- Help CEO in root cause analysis- often without prompting
- Confirm hypotheses through tactful and discrete engagement with the relevant parties
- Develop alternative approaches to addressing the problem or opportunity
- Update the CEO on the issues, supported with facts and recommendations
- Build consensus around contentious issues that can potentially arise to halt a business direction
- Remain CEOs ears on the ground to pick-up murmurs and informal feedback on a variety of business issues
