Role Description:

Application Development (AD) is seeking a Director who is responsible for leading the product development and maintenance function for Elemica's Java based applications. You will lead the development of new product functions and features, and the maintenance of product releases deployed across a wide base of global customers. You will be responsible to create a world class engineering organization that drives innovation and leverages the latest technologies to drive competitive advantage. You will partner very closely with Professional Services and Support functions to deliver world class services and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

- Lead planning and development of new releases of products utilizing Java and related technologies

- Contribute to the development of a technical roadmap for innovation and technical requirements ensuring the products are stable and innovative; enable latest development and deployment technologies and processes across products

- Develop and deploy engineering processes utilizing Agile methodology to effectively estimate, plan, develop, and test new features and functions

- Drive product architecture and quality to ensure smooth implementation, upgrade, and functioning of standard or customizable products

- Provide direction, set goals, and lead a team of analysts and engineers to deliver new, maintenance, and patch releases of products

- Establish an upgrade path for products and enable Professional Services to perform upgrades

- Lead development of maintenance and patch releases; partner closely with Professional Services and Global Customer Support functions to deploy fixes to customer environments

- Provide hands-on, technical leadership to the team on Java and related technologies

Experience and Skills Required:

- 16+ years of experience developing and maintaining products or commercial software deployed at the enterprise level for global customers.

- Hands-on experience in Java application and Microservices development and deployment. Technical experience in Core Java, Spring, Hibernate, and Messaging and Queueing. Experience designing synchronous and asynchronous workflows

- Experience in working with geographies across Europe and the United States

- Experience in Agile SCRUM and Kanban processes

- Experience in performance engineering, security, extensibility, and scalability

- Experience with JIRA, GIT Hub, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and agile testing

- Management experience in hiring, motivating, and retaining a team.

- Logical reasoning, problem solving, critical thinking, data analysis, and creativity.

- Clear oral and written communication.

Good to have skills:

- Experience in supply chain solutions

- Experience in transportation lifecycle management and logistics

Education and Certification:

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science

- M.S/MSc preferred
